Yes, that certainly is possible, but...nobody knows how long it really takes CIC to complete the OWP processing.

A December applicant may very well be [somewhere] in the OWP `process', but how far?

Sorry, but I was `simply' replying to a question.

You will likely receive your OWP lonnnng before your sponsor has been approved. It currently takes ~ 18 months for that glorious day (for Inland applicants).

You're way ahead of us I'm the sponsor, and my husband is the primary applicant. I did not receive SA, we don't even have our AOR, and we can't see our PR or OWP app in eCAS. So... who knows how CIC actually works?

The agent I spoke to said that there is still no file created for my open work permit. It's been 4 months and 3 weeks. Should I send a case specific enquiry? This is getting very frustrating? She also said they are working on AOR for Sep 28 applications.

3 weeks ago or even more, they told us they were working on AOR for Sep 28th. Now they are still working on AOR for Sep 28th.
Yes, I think you should contact with your MP and at the same time send a case specific enquiry.

Is it mandatory to send police certificates along with the application? Or they can be sent at a later date?

Hi All- need some help in couple of questions, I am PR here and working since Nov 2015 so i have not yet filed any taxes. I just got married and since she has tourist visa of Canada she accompanied me here.
Now i am filling her application for inland sponsorship and my questions are -
1) As i have not yet filed any taxes so what should i attach for "computer print out of the most recent notice of Assessment (Option C print out) and computer print out of all income slips like T4, T4E, T5, T5007 available at CRA. I just received T4 from from my company but it will take 16 weeks for me to get acknowledgement from the CRA for tax filing. Please let me know what should i do.
2) Does the completed OWP application goes with other form and mailed to CPC-M, PO BOX 5040 STN B, Mississauga or does it goes to different location ?

Please advice!!

Hi everyone, just a quick update - I called CIC call center and they said my OWP was processed and sent out on Feb 19, I haven't received it yet but hopefully everything goes well. I am Oct 15 applicant.
I would like to encourage everyone who is waiting to be patient and not always rely on what call center agents tell. When I called the first time to check on my application after 4 months had passed they said that there is no trace of it and it is likely it has been lost or sent back. It upset me a lot, I don't mind waiting, it is just that fact that I didn't know what was happening with my application that really got to me. I called again the next week and told them to give me the tracking number if they sent it back as I haven't received anything, instead they asked for my tracking number and said that they will send a request to the processing center. I called back again later and they told me again that there is no sign of my application. I started to get together docs for applying again when I heard the good news today.

I Logged into ecas but it mentions only about my application recieved for family sponsorship and medicals recieved but it doesn't say anything about OWP application. Do they update about OWP application ??

I just checked my own e-mail (and not my husbands) and we got our AOR on the 20th of February.
Sent December 24th, was received by them on the 30th!

I applied in January, 2014, when my husband's most recent Option C from the previous were not yet available. We sent an explanation letter that we will provide this document as soon as it will be available, and sent some other proof (paystubs, letter from employer, etc). We sent the Option around May (after receiving the file number), and we didn't have any trouble.

And yes, you should send the OWP in the same package.
