Mailed it April 17 and it was delivered April 20. So whenever they actually opened it is anyone's guess. I'm tired of trying to call CIC and not getting through. Im hoping I hear something this week. I'm staying as positive as I can with money being tight; hoping for the work permit to come soon too.

Need help!

We've been waiting for the OWP of my husband and it has been 4 months and no news, so we called the call center yesterday and the agent said there is no record of OWP on their system. How is that possible when they sent us 2 AORs of our PR application. We are definitely sure that the OWP application is with the PR application we sent. Is there anyone here with the same experience? What shall we do? My husband's visit visa is expiring this month so does that mean we have to apply for an extension? This is so stressful.

Might be a good idea to call your MP and have him/her call CIC. Might be a good idea to also dig up the receipt for the OWP as well in case you need it.

hello,

-Marriage licence gives you the right to marry, but it doesn't prove that you got married.
-Record of solemnization of Marriage is the paper you got on the spot when you got married by the lawyer BUT that's not a marriage certificate
-Marriage certificate is the official registered record of your marriage recognized by state and that is what you need to send with the PR package to CIC

did you request the certificate? In Ontario it takes 2 weeks to get it and you can order it online. I'd assume that's very similar across the country.

thank you very much GG_Wife for your answer, no we did not requested the certificate yet, I thought the marriage statement would be enough, I will go monday and request it, I`m in New Brunswick, I just read it takes here also 2 to 3 weeks and costs $ 35 ? not sure.
