Well, you could always call the CIC, explain to an agent what's going on (after confirming that your applications have been received) and have this agent confirm with your employer that you can keep working and under what conditions.

Otherwise you are reliant on the cruel cruel CIC and hiring a lawyer wouldn't make much difference and only complicate things as well as costing you money. You can always bring a copy of your applications to your employer as additional proof you have submitted the applications.

You can just ask the cic agent on the phone to explain what happens with your status, if your current permit expired after you have sent in the applications for PR and OWP and then show your employer that you have submitted these applications in time with either a fedex tracking number if you use a courier (which I highly recommend) or AOR.

They received last friday ,my work permit expire 30 of may.I try to call cic and always they hang up .Can i came back to work if i get from cic agentnresponse after 30 of may?.Thanks

Honestly, I don't know if your employer will allow you to work. I am not a fortune teller
However, with the link I provided you previously in one of my earlier replies, you should have enough explanation for your employer.

Guys if ever the OWP will get approved, how are we going to know about it? Are they going to notify us by mail or email? CAlled CIC this morning they said if after 10th of july i dont have the OWP yet then i will have to call them again and verify it.

Hey Sophiee, just letting you know I got my AOR today!

CIC is well aware of the FBI backlog, so just include a note stating that you have (or will be) ordering the FBI report and will provide it when you have received it. If you don't include a note, CIC will think that you forgot to include it and may return your entire application.

Hello Guys

I am still waiting for some responses from people who have sent their application without police check (other than FBI). Please let me know what kind of explanation letter they submit, and if CIC cause any trouble or return file ?
As per Ponga a explanation letter for FBI police check can be sent. Just wondering if we can attach letter that police check has been applied(other than FBI) ?
