To start you both have mycic and ecas backwards. :)
I totally questioned myself like 6 times before posting because I felt like I didn't have those right lol. Thank you for sorting it out!

Interesting that we could receive landing letter without any DM letter or anything like that! Keeps me on my toes, that's for sure lol

Ecas no longer is in bold letters on the site. But still in the site address. Would be worth a shot to call CIC...often it helps speed up. If i dont hear by Thursday I'll be calling myself. That's the only way i knew i had AIP. My dm showed on the 2nd.

Friday the 3rd i became permanent resident. Good Luck to you all. Very easy landing interview. Got registered and handed 2 chit for waiting list E and D. D checks if you had paid the fee then you go right at the window with the E chit and they asked you a few question before granting the PR. I was with my wife. Yes ID it's a must for the address check up. Proof of Canadian citizenship for her who sponsored me. Initials on a few boxes. Then signature and everything it's ok. After 1 hour i got my new SIN. GOOD LUCK and thanks for everyone's personal experience.

I know this is a bit late but if you guys are ever looking for a great lawyer/consultant to represent you then I might know the right guy who charges a decent amount not on the pricey side. about 40% less then what others charge. People can DM for his contact details. He handled all my queries and questions very well, he was my point of contact with the CIC. I know a lot of people are already through over 75% of the application process on here but just a future reference or anyone you know who might need help in future. I know this might come off as a marketing thing but trust me I wrote a review for him on google and I wouldn't have if I had any doubts (I rarely do reviews) but this was the best $ i have spent. A lot of people say its useless spending $ on a consultant but I have read so many times on here people missing a spot to sign and the whole application gets returned back and pushes those processing periods even further.

I guess spouse application does not require any consultant. Individual should do by there own.
You know your situation better then anyone else. Just need to follow the guideline available cic website and this forum is best to compare your self to another case.

I have seen many people hire a consultant and then boom... they are in black they never know whats communication is gng in between lawyer and cic.

Thats my personal experience and plus i have seen almost 30 to 40 people in my circle they never hire any consultant at-least for spouse immigration.

Hope that helps for the people as well. :)

Hi everyone.

I am a July 2015 applicant and received SA in December. so SA letter says pay the right of Permanent Residence Fee($490) should be paid as soon as possible. but I also received another refund mail on the same day saying they will refund the Fee($390) since they took $100 for my open work permit which I paid Oct 2015 with separate receipt after I realized I underpaid. The letter said do not pay the fee again until they contact us at a later time. So I've waited for the contact since then, and today I called Call center to verify whether I should pay the Fee again or not now.

An agent gave me confusing answer - "You could pay if you want to or you can just wait until they contact you." I knew I wouldn't get the clear answer but now I'm more confused.
Does anyone have similar situation? It is really frustrating that Mid 2015 applicants aren't still done....

Thanks in advance
