We received AIP finally! !! But still no dm as they are still doing security on my wife. Does anyone know how does it take ? Wr are seriously tired of waiting.

I have a few questions for a friend.

First, charged with an offence that may hold a penalty of 10 years or more, was never convicted but was charged with a lesser traffic violation.

Q1. I know the charge must be declared but what is the best way to do this, it asks for an explanation.

Q2. When my friends wife entered Canada last time from the US, a visitor record was not provided, they are applying inland and would like to stay in status. When applying online proof of status is requested. In the instructions it defines proof of status as visa, visitor record, TRP.

How does one apply for extension with none of the above?

Anyone with experience in any of these? Your advise is much appreciated.

Had our landing interview at the Etobicoke office and received our COPR and SIN number today. Yay!!

The lady said we can apply for OHIP right away.

Can anyone confirm?

My wife is saying she has to apply for the Ontario identity card first before she can apply for OHIP.

I'm not sure about Ontario, but for Quebec as soon as you get AIP you can apply for RAMQ (Quebec health insurance plan). With COPR, I am sure you can apply. However the coverage will be effective only 3 months after registration, therefore do it as soon as possible.

I got my GCMS today, it says on the bottom
Application identified as part of the 2016 inventory reduction excercise for certain spouse or common law partner in Canada applications. Application requires closer review.

They havent started on my medical yet although i sent them 3 months ago.

Just a headsup - the medical appointment is available in 2 weeks time!! tried many different places in GTA and everyone is talking about first week of december. these people are so busy! given we need to give the meds in 30 days - wish the process could become faster!

did everyone else face this as well?
