Tonight was a big surprise. Received SA and DM after less than 11 months. Not sure what's going on at CIC.

You're an October 27, 2014 applicant? I think that's a new record, 10 months.
It's like it's February 2014 again.

In other news, CIC updated the site and are now processing March 25, 2014.
Wooohooo just a few more months!

How can they now be Processing March 25, 2014 when there are so many people before that date which have not been processed yet?

We just got our landing letter. I do have to warn everybody, because I've almost deleted this email.
It didn't say sender: CIC EDMONTON or anything like that. The sender and email subject is this:" 瓊賊彧즌卒彧鯖蘖烈췹跡煜奬聽禎湞給帙灑蘖屢猖鴨謫? "

Weird. I clicked on it anyway, but I was worried it's some virus or just spam. This time it wasn't.

Anyway, we are landing on September 24.

Landed today.

Interview was pretty straighforward. The only thing that kind of threw me off was them asking for my latest work permit.
Luckily, I've always carried that with me.

The process became that much easier because of this forum.

I know, right?! The weirdest thing ever. If I expand the sender information this shows up " 촁챠토獐塼禎셌챠토獐塼禎잣芋豫信? Citizenship and Immigration CanadaSuite 240, 9700 Jasper AvenueEdmonton, AB T5J 4C3 "

But the second part (cic etc) isn't visible unless you expand the whole email.

They probably average the worst date they are working on and average it with October 27, 2014 (which they are actively processing).

Seriously? Ugh, my spam filter would *definitely* have eaten an email that looked like that.

Next they're going to send out OWP's printed on the back of Lawn Care Service fliers.

I wonder how many people have missed their CIC correspondence because the subject line was "$$$ EARN BIG MONEY FROM HOME EASY NOW $$$".

If you search Google for it you'll see a whole pile of binary documents (PDF etc) turn up.

I think they are using an automated e-mail process which is supposed to pull some data out of somewhere, and it's bugged and dumping out the binary as Unicode.

Go CIC.....

Exactly, I'd suggest to order notes on regular basis. At least you will know you missed an important correspondence.

I agree, the stressful thing is it says in bold in the landing letter "Failure to appear for this interview will be perceived as lack of interest in permanent residence and your application will be refused"".

So if it went to your spam and you'll miss the date, you'd have to undergo another lengthy process of explanation.

Just on a side note of this crazy email thing..., when I signed my COPR I noticed that under Application details there is a Validity date, to 2016/05/20 in my case. I asked the officer what is it, and he told me that if I haven't showed up, I could have asked for another landing appointment until that day. I don't know if it's true or if he just made it up, but if it's true, then every applicant must have an almost year long window to arrange a landing appointment.
