First of all, congrats! Have you received more emails, you and your sponsor? Today was the first communication you received since the AOR?
The time between the DM and the landing interview depends on the landing office, nowadays it's pretty fast (1-2 months).

Sorry I am not familiar with all the abbreviations; what's AOR and DM?
I haven't received anything yet. And why would I need a landing interview if I am already in Canada?

Hi again Sophiee, this is my own situation now to ask, my working permit will expire next month and I am under spousal sponsorship, I sent my document last July and received AOR last August also. Planning to apply today or tomorrow for the OWP. I am included under the new one year pilot they have since December 22,2014?

Just wanted to share my experience.

They received the application on Jan 14 2014
Medical Results received on April 10 2015 (I sent them together with the application, not sure why they received them a year later)
Decision Made on April 25 2015

Now it says they will contact me in regards of the decision. I am soooo worried.. I hope everything went well. I hate the fact that they can't put the result of the decision on the site!!!

Do you guys know more on less how long it will take to receive their decision?

AOR - Acknowledgment of receipt - an email that CIC send that they received your application
AIP - Approval in Principle - First Stage approval
DM - Decision Made - Second Stage approval

You need to attend a landing interview in order to become a permanent residence. That's part of the process.

Yes, if CIC receive your application before your current permit expire, you are eligible for an OWP. But may need to stop working until you receive your new permit.

True, most are in fact positive (it seems), but when a person ultimately receives a letter that says "A decision has been made...", that could still be a negative decision.
A negative decision letter would include this:
... In your case, you have not shown that you meet this requirement because [enter particulars of the situation].

So I logged into E-cas today, and noticed one more line was added."2.Medical results have been received"
It's kind of weird because I submitted in January 2014 when I was submitting my PR..
I will believe this is a good sign..

I keep logging in to mine hoping it will say that, but it never does. I think CIC has skipped the end of Dec and moved on to Jan, just like how they skipped Nov entirely. I don't know what they are doing, but it's not logical or rational.

Do they usually let people know through email or mail? Are we talking about weeks or months?

When you log in to eCAS does it say that CIC received your file on January 14, 2014? Or did they receive it in December?

Applicants and sponsors usually get an email, but it happened lately that they found the DM in the eCAS first, and got the email couple weeks later (or never received it). CIC is not so accurate with these things (or with anything else).

I'm Jan 20 applicant, and there is nothing else in eCAS, than "app is received..."

They received the file on January 14 2014.

I hope I will get an understanding soon.. this waiting is so frustrating!
