Unless I'm mistaken, CPC-M does indeed process outland applications, but only stage 1 (sponsorship approval). After that it's forwarded to the proper outland visa office.

That being said, I'm not sure how likely it is they could confuse an inland for an outland, but it's probably happened. Presumably after it's opened and reviewed, they'd realize where it should be, as the forms differ slightly.
Oh, I didn't know that! Sorry for my mistake and thanks for clearing that up.
It seems quite strange that they would mistake an inland for Outland though, hopefully OP can get some clarification soon.

just FYI

I have received AOR in Email last Friday. However the eCAS is only available from this morning.

The login info is File# + Applicants name&information

If you dont see your eCAS update right after receiving Email then you might want to wait for a day or 2 to call.

Hello,

My partner and I have been in a relationship since October 2010 (India) and have been living together in Canada since Sep 2011. He is a PR and I came in as a Student and now on my OWP. We plan to apply for Spousal Sponsorship as Common Law Partners.

QUES 1: What other documents, other than the below mentioned, should we include?
Here is the list of proofs we plan to attach:
1. Bank Statements proving our cohabilitation from Sep 2011 to present
2. Driver's Lincense with same addresses (we moved houses 3 times and we have all the 3 linceses with different addresses issued on the same day)
3. Ownership/Adoption of our dog
4. Statutory Declaration of Common Law Union (which was signed by the Commisioner of Oaths in July 2013)
5. Tax Documents (we have been filing taxes together as common law partners for the past 2 years)
6. RRSPs (listing the two of us as each other's successors. He is also listed as the contributor for my RRSP)
7. Rental Agreement (from July 2012 till present)
8. Joint Bank Account
9. Photos (from Oct 2010 - present)
10. We also plan to attach 2 notarized letters (and a few casual letters) from friends/family/landlord confirming our relationship.
When I applied for my OWP in 2013, I changed my marital status to Common Law. My partner recently renewed his PR Card and he did the same last year.

QUES 2: My OWP expires in Aug 2014. We plan to apply by the end of this week. I am guessing that after Aug 2014, I would be on Implied Status which means I would still be able to work full-time with any employer till the decision has been made? Or would I have to wait until CIC approves my partner for sponsorship and then extend/apply for OWP which would mean I can't be working after Aug 2014 till the approval? I'm confused.

QUES 3: I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia but moved to India. Have an Indian Passport. However, I do not have my Birth Certificate from Saudi Arabia, all I have is a Birth Announcement Certificate from the hospital in Saudi Arabia confirming my birth. I have tried several times to contact the Government of Saudi Arabia requesting to issue a Birth Cert, and also had a contact person visit them physically, but they refuse to cooperate.
As I am a citizen of India, a 10th Standard Mark Sheet could also serve as my Birth Certificate. I plan to attach both, the Birth Announcement Cert. as well as my 10th Standard Mark Sheet for the Birth Certificate requirement and also plan to give a letter of explanation. Do you think that should suffice?

We are extremely nervous as we are applying through In-land process. We just have one chance as we cannot reappeal if it gets rejected. What do you guys think? Should the above mentioned documents suffice? Do you suggest we attach other documents such as emails, phone history, FB and WhatsApp chat or more?

Any help or suggesstions would be much appreciated at this point.

Thank you.

Why are you posting the same question in multiple threads?!?!

YES! IMHO, YOU HAVE ENOUGH PROOF! :)

And...#3 might actually make the visa officer laugh!

I would honestly not worry too much about proof. We sent in about 15 pictures, not even a single proof of Skype or any kinds of chat logs, text messages or any of that kind. Just some simple proof such as joined bank accounts, some pictures and a declaration of common law relationship as well as statements from immediate family and one friend. Don't worry guys! :)

No. The application goes to Mississauga (CPC-M) since they are processing all applications there now.

You can include the OWP and they will forward it back to Vegreville (I believe). You should write (in big letters across the top of the OWP):
OWP SUBMITTED WITH IN-CANADA SPOUSAL SPONSORSHIP. PROCESS AFTER AIP

Ah, thank you. I feel a bit more confident now.

However, my partner is self employed and the Sponsorship Evaluation form asks for the net personal income. Since he is self employed, he does not draw a lot of salary from his business. Was wondering if there is a minimum amount required? We can show $50k for him. Should that be enough for him to be approved as a sponsor?

there should be an "net" amount in the NOA that he filed this year i believe. that should give you a good hint. there is no minimum. they just want to know that you two wont be on the streets soon after you land. your partner is taking the responsibility of providing for you for next 3 years. they want to check if he can fulfill it.

Guys,

Has anyone received AOR who sent out their application in early Feb? Our application was received on Feb 10th.

This morning, my wife called CIC regarding the current status on her PR. The agent said don't expect anything within 3 to 4 month after sending the application, not 7 to 8 month like some of the other agents.....The strange thing is, he said he did not find any record of her and her application, but somehow, give her a client ID number? This to me is very confusing, isn't client ID only given out once they open the application? if they did open the application, why the agent couldn't find any records? Just try to figure out roughly, where we are at, in this lengthy, painful process.

Her visa extension was sent out on April 7th online, and still nothing from CIC, which is also super furstrating.

I strongly believe CIC is not the right organization, government body to do this, and outsourcing to a private company who operates more effeciently, and CHEAPER, would do all of us good.

Thanks,
Tom

Anybody that has previously applied for visa to Canada have a client ID. This number remains the same for all immigration applications.

At least that CIC agent was somewhat honest and straightforward. Some of them seem to give people the massive run-around. SIGH!

I imagine the pace will pick up a bit at Mississauga - it just might be a few months before it does, and we're the unlucky so-and-so's who are suffering for it.
