My wife is a sponsor and she is a Canadian citizen.

I applied for PR in Oct, 2014 again.

My first application was denied in March, 2014.

I'm out of status.

I read if our baby is born in a foreign country, our baby is a visitor here.
If we have a baby in Canada, our baby will get a Canadian citizenship?
Yes, he/she will be a Canadian citizen.

provided the mother didn't get it through inheritance as well.
I think it only matters if the baby is born outside of Canada.

sorry i was thinking of this line

I read if our baby is born in a foreign country, our baby is a visitor here.

being born in canada means the baby is a canadian unless the parent is in the armed forces of another country.

Hello ..please I need someone to guide me. Me and my fiancé wants to apply for spousal sponsorhip using inland application because my study permit will be expiring soon. We are wondering if the service of a lawyer is necessary
2. I need a breakdown of how the process of inland application goes. We are getting married this month though
3. Do I need to submit medicals right away or do I need to wait till it's requested

1) A lawyer is not necessary. We have not hired one. Some on the forum have hired a lawyer and they can share their experiences.
2) You can look at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/spouse.asp
for the application forms and other information. As long as you are married or have been common in law for more than 2 years you can apply. To keep your status legal in Canada you should apply before the expiry date of your student visa and include a work permit application in the whole package. You may be eligible for post graduate work permit to keep your status and work in Canada. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/updates/2014/2014-12-22.asp
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-postgrad.asp
It totally costs 1040+155 for immigration and work permit.
3) Medicals can be done prior to application or later. Your call.

So maybe applications are finally moving.

I have read many people that has submitted their application months ago and they cannot access to Ecas. Well i just could today after 8 months, so maybe this brings you hope if you have been waiting like me.

So i submitted my application on July 2014 and received the AOR on august 2014. On March 2015 they sent an email to my sponsor and finally i could see my application online using the sponsor's information. When online, the sponsor status says "we started processing your application on March 2015". On my side says application received and medicals received.

Hopefully this means that is finally in process, not sure, maybe i wont hear from them until next year ::)
We exactly same timeline...just check my e-cas and I can now log on and says application received July 2014 and for my sponsor it's now in process! happy to know its moving!

Hiring a lawyer is not necessary and actually I would not recommend it. I personally hired one and he's been completely useless. All they do is help you fill out the forms and tell you which supporting documents you need. But everything you need to complete the application is available on the CIC website. It's just a big waste of money.
