Hey everyone... I just talked to a CIC agent, and when you apply to change your status as a visitor, they'll give you a "visitor record" which is a paper that works in the same way as a work permit or a study permit. I know that Americans get that when they cross the border, but it works for us poor folks as well. That means that I can go to the States and come back; if I were to go back home, I would need to apply for a Visa from there to come back, but the visitor record is valid for the period that it states, even if you leave.
Just in case anyone else was wondering about that!
