Hello Fellow Inlanders,
Few Stories to share from our side. We are Sept. 11, applicants.
First off, last time we shared, My husband had to leave the country for a wedding. He was able to successfully return
Even without me joining him. The only trouble we ran into was at the Frankfurt Airport (the flight to Canada) as he was going EU Customs, he was stopped by a security agent asking for his return ticket. He explained that he was in the process of becoming a PR in Canada and she was not buying the story. She took photos of his passport and ticket and told him a CBSA agent would meet him at the gate for further evaluation. Talk about nerve wracking! He waited and waited and no one showed up or called his name. By the time he landed in Ottawa, there was no questions asked, a quick meeting with our CBSA team for secondary and a new visitor pass was re-issued. They did offer a word of caution, not to assume that his visitor pass from before was implied after it expired. (We called CIC and they confirmed we could do that) Luckily, he had all the receipts of our PR and OWP application. He said the OWP receipt sealed the deal, they knew that we wanted to continue this process legally and correctly. 6 month visitor pass issued.
Should anyone ever have to come into this situation, I recommend copies of all your documents, including the receipts!
Secondly, We called CIC today and we have confirmation that our OWP has been approved and was sent out Jan. 2
7 - 10 business days from Canada Post. Very Successful phone call.
Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and positivity. We'll continue to wait patiently on the sidelines until we hear about out AIP and the arrival of our OWP.
