hey everyone, congrats and well wishes to everyone in process!

I got a letter today about my application and I'd love if you can help me figure out what it means!

"It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met."

AIP right?

It goes on to say, "We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre will contact you concerning your permanent resident status."

Is this DM? Does that mean I got both at once? It also says I can now apply for an OWP.

Can I start dancing now???

dance!!!!!!! it is the very best news you could expect!!! congratulations

I will call them today and ask as you suggested though I got AOR last week of September, it's very possible that they will tell me that it's too early to ask or order for notes.
Just an update. I did call CIC few minutes ago and the agent said she is not sure if there is need for biometrics for my type of application but that it is left for the visa office to say if I need to send or not.
She went ahead to say i should wait until they ask me too and would not advise me to do it now and send
because they might not even need it. I am just confused and don't know what to do next. I am just trying to avoid more delays!

Have you been receiving welfare or social assistance (unemployment insurance) from the government during the application process? If no, you don't need to do anything.

Hi there,

I got my DM January 9th and my landing interview is Feb 12th at Etobicoke, so it really does depend where you land.

No you have to land at the closest location from the address you provide as home in your application.

Hey guys. A couple of weeks ago, me and my GF got emails from CIC. My Gf got confirmation that she had been approved to sponsor me, and I got an email stating that I had to provide additional evidence that we were cohabiting for at least one year prior to our application. Long story, but me and my GF were living together in a house owned by my brother. There was no written lease between me and my brother. I have spent the last week gathering documents together such as letters addressed seperately to me and my GF showing us at the same address. Some of these document have been scanned and emailed to me by my brother in England so I could get them ASAP. I sent all my document off today along with a cover letter to explain what I was sending them. I be very appreciative if a senior member could have a quick check of the cover letter and documents I send to prove our common law relationship.

This is the final section of my cover letter. I obviously removed names and private info.

Please find enclosed evidence and documents to prove that (girlfriend) and myself were in a common law relationship at least one year prior to submitting our application for Permanent Residence within Canada. The documents I will be enclosing are as follows:

• Statutory Declaration Of Common Law Relationship
• Statement from (brother) noting the dates that (girlfriend) and myself lived at the property of (address in UK)
• Copy of deeds to the above property to prove that (brother) is the registered owner
• Copy of photograph identification for (brother) in the form of a UK driving license
• Separately addressed letters to myself and (girlfriend) showing that we were both living at the same address at least one year prior to applying for Permanent Residency
• Letters addressed to (girlfriend) include UK Lloyds TSB bank statements (dated December 2011 – January 2012) and a letter regarding income tax from HM Revenue and Customs (dated February 2012)
• Letters addressed to myself include a solicitors letter (dated July 2011), car insurance policy (dated August 2011) and a letter from the UK Association of Chief Police Officers which I used to apply for my IEC visa (dated January 2012)
• Our current original lease which we signed 1st July 2012 – We completed the one year lease, and are still living at the same property on a month to month basis
• Bank statements from our joint bank account which we opened in November 2012

Please contact me to confirm receipt of these documents.

Thanks guys

It seems to me like those documents offer strong evidence of you living together for the required time. I hope CIC responds quickly! Best of luck.

Thank you so much I hope so. I also hope I don't have to wait too long to hear from them!
