Hi guys,

I sent OWP application 1 month after I sent the Sponsorship Application. The letter that was sent to my wife where they ask her to do medical check up, tell her that now she can apply for work permit. However we did send the Application and I don't see anything about OWP application received on Ecas as well. Does anyone else have this kind of letter and get the OWP after all? I am wondering if I should apply for the OWP again..

hello, pocq, i can tell you when i recieve my AIP letter, didnt say anything about OWP, just requesting police certificate, and telling me that now i can apply for an OWP, but that's is actually the approval for you OWP too, you will recieve it in the mail in around 2 weeks or less. depends in where you are living and if is everything right with your address. i recieved it 6 days after AIP.

Yes, You may be able to apply for SIN and AHS with your COPR.
I did mine in 2012; so I believe they still do the same works with your COPR.

Watching the wait time getting higher and higher wasn't a joy for myself but the light will soon come. I feel it. My AOR is in end may so hopefully i'll have good news soon.

ohh you need 10 posts in order to send private messages. Guri3577 will add you.and make sure that you keep a close eye on your email this week because I believe that they will start processing may applicants late this week.

Still no OWP for me .

Our applications are processed on a first come first serve basis pretty much. 2014 applicants shouldn't be hearing before us unless there are special circumstances or most if not all 2013 applications have been processed.

Yes, and please keep in mind that there are still 2012 applicants (and possibly earlier) still awaiting DM.

I speculate that if one doesn't receive AIP and DM within a short time of one another, your file is given a BF (bring forward) date 8 months (according to recent posted processing times) when file is looked at again for possible DM.

I am so anxious to get back in to the work force! I'm really hoping potential employers are understanding of the gaping hole in my résumé!

Yes. My husband applied for and accepted a position with a company back in June although he is still waiting to actually start working. The company also filed for an LMO to expedite his start date but it is starting to look like he will have his OWP first. They have been very accommodating to him and I am not sure this would be the norm but if you are getting close you might as well get out there and make a start. I have found the job hunting process to be quite lengthy in Canada as it is-- so it can't hurt to start the process now. Good luck to you in your job hunt! You may even be quite lucky and find a company with a standing/open LMO that they would be able to attach you to.
