What is GCMS note????????????

GMCS Notes mean Global Case Management System Notes. This is the electronic system where an officer will review and record their review of your case file. Under the Access to Information and Privacy Act passed in 1983, all applicants have the right to view what is going on with their file while it is in the hands of CIC. You can access the information on the GCMS notes for free by sending in a request (which takes around 30 days to be processed) through forms which can be found here:

I requested notes for the application for my husband and I and was sent back mostly blank GCMS notes. I called an agent and asked why this was and I was told that it was too soon for the agent to have written anything in our file even though the file had been with them for nearly 9 months at the time.

These are the amount of 2013 AOR applications we have on the excel sheet for the following months (for people that are interested):

This gives an idea of how many people are waiting in which months they applied.

Oh my god!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AIP e-mails received today!

The e-mails were sent to myself (sponsor) and my partner (applicant) at the same time. Her e-mail said:
"It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements."

Such an amazing amazing start to the year. Just need to hold on for a bit longer but at least now we can apply for the OWP!
For those of you keeping track of timelines our app was received Feb 20 2013.

Feb applicants... it's time to get excited!!!!
