I only sent color copies of my passport. Even my wedding pictures were printed in black and white. My husband only sent his driver's license in color. That was it for him.

Of course, I haven't landed yet, so we'll see how it work out :p

I would only worry about color if there is a very big significance to it on the documents or culturally.

Also, I was just reading another thread, and they were talking bout sending relationship history from both of us.....is that true or just I (being the sponsored spouse) send the relationship summary.......??

Thanks

Are you referring to the relationship essay where you write about the development of your relationship and your plans for the future?

If yes, it's completely optional. I didn't write anything more than the space provided on the form. My husband wrote nothing. (Thank the heavens, his grammar and spelling are awful.) Some people write letters. Most seem to be 2-3 pages long, although I know of people writing 11 or more pages. One person wrote almost 30, but she included pictures in the text - so if they took a vacation, she had a picture or two from the vacation. (It sounded really cute to be honest.)

So it's up to you. Evaluate your situation. Do you feel you need a letter? Are there special circumstances around your relationship that you need to explain to the VO? (I. e., a Muslim woman marrying a non-Muslim man; significant age difference; you have a doctorate and your spouse is a high school drop out.... )

(I personally had a few "red flags" - everyone has at least one - but I didn't feel they were big enough to warrant explaining.)

Hi Amikety,

We are sending the relationship summary from my side only now.(it's only one page though)......hopefully it's enough .........m sending few of our old pics.......whatever we had .......

And bout red flags.......well ......lemme think......

actually, after reading the threads and experiences, It's so difficult to decide on many things......and to check with CIC means calling them at least 3 times to confirm.......

Anyways, I wish everyone a very best ..........
Thanks so much

Congrats KrissKris,

I am so happy for you, your wait is over. I think we only have one person who has received AIP but no DM yet. I sometimes read the 2012 applicants timeline and I think it's a 9 week wait to get a response from the Etobicoke office. But that being said you never know you might get the landing letter sooner than the 9 weeks. All the best and let us know how your landing goes.

Hey all,

Just a brief history, we are getting married this fall in vancouver and we will be applying inland:)

Does anyone know if one is allowed to have two open work permits at the same time? My fiancé currently has a working holiday visa (which is an open work permit) and we are wondering if when we send in the PRApplication, should we put an application in for a OWP too? Or should we even bother sending a OWP since we have two full years on the WHP?

And a random question, when we apply inland he won't have to supply his passport right? (This would be for an Outland application only?)

There's no purpose to having two open work permits. When his existing work permit gets closer to expiration you can apply to renew based upon AIP.

Of course you'll have to supply his passport. It is a regulatory requirement that the applicant present her or his passport. Thus, for an inland case he would show it to the CIC officer at the landing appointment, along with the work permit and other documents they might request (note that they will keep the work permit at that time because he's no longer eligible for a work permit once he is a permanent resident.)
