The timeline keeps on growing for no reasons. Even the person who has submitted the app yesterday should be worried too because s/he doesn't know if it will be 8 mths, 13 mths, or 2 years before s/he gets some sorts of firm answer from the government. and his/her family, not YOUR family, will be put in limbo for whatever number of months CIC wants. Isn't it something that should be worried, by ALL the people that are part of the process, either old or new? If CIC can give us more specific reasons about timeline, delay, process, who would have to stick on computer everyday and live with so much worries? You think many of us here are aggressive, crazy. Put yourself in our shoes where month after month, you see nothing else but a backward progress. Absolutely no respect for Canadian sponsors (citizens and PR alike) who paid to get the service done but getting no customer service in return. Don't you agree?

It's because of CIC's poor performance that make us what we are today. And you are not a part of suffering people so you're free to opine, but not to judge.

Make sense?

Yeah, unfortunately you're right. I've noticed it happens the most when we see no progress. We're all happy and hopeful when we see good news, but when it's like this and there's been no good news for so long, tempers and frustrations run high...

listen since you have already been through it you should be humane enough to othe ppl on the forum and not telling them they are just 5 months into the application and stuff like that..everyone has a different professional, financial and personel situation...so you cant tell any one who is 5 mnths or 1 mnth into the application to calm down...everyone feels differently...so respect other peoples situation if u cant help them..if u feel something is offending you...u shd keep mum over it rather bragging about it... I am also 6 months into the application and i feel the same as the fellow you rebuked.
And just like you told that i guy...heres a piece of advice..since u r done with your pr thing..you should rather concentrate on your job or work if you have any rather than hurting people on forums.

hello everybody,
please swallow your anger against CIC and don't burst it out against one another. Screech has given lots of us very good advice and help.
please focus on what this forum is about. helping each other to go positively through this long process. what ever your personal situation might be.
We all are here in Canada because we choose to be here! Nobody forced us or obliged us. the PR process is long? YES it is, but that is not the fault of the applicants nor of their sponsors. we must accept this situation and I am positive and hopefull that we will again see some progress in the processing of our files.
please don't fight, let us all stick together and keep calm and give support to all those who need it.

I totally agree with you. It is easy to get carried away in frustration. I have seen it happen during the 2012 Inlanders. The status was stuck on one day for I believe 6 months adding to the 1 stage of 6 months moving up to 10? It was sad to see that happen and see fellow members wallow in frustration. Don't blame them for that. The only bonus was that once the process started moving, CiC started issuing AIP / DMs at the same time. Left right and centre.

It was speculated that the delay was due to the implementation of the 2 year conditional PR clause along with the ongoing strike by the staff in foreign embassies. The inland was not suppose to be affected by the strike but we all know how false that was even though we can't prove it.

And besides more than one time I was told if I am not happy with Canadian immigration I can just leave, go back and stay with my foreign spouse in her country.
Why should I give up my establishment here, my job, my home ownership, my fellow Canadians just because of the stupid process at CIC? Why should I be upset about Canada as a whole, just because one piece of the puzzle is missing, rather than doing what I can to fix it?

I am not only doing all these for myself. I and the people in the same boat who have joined the petition, who have done their parts in raising voice to MPs, to government, to media, are not doing things for our own benefits, but for many others too, those who are currently in process but not here, or those who will be applying in future. Because we live in Canada, we believe in equality, we believe in democracy. If government is showing lack of respect to its citizens, we have the right to oppose them.
We have created some social channels. We have asked Toronto Star to present our problem. We haven't been able to claim the victory, CIC is still doing things behind a closed door to us, but we will not give up until we see changes or get an answer.

Peace out!

Let's get started with this. People are free to join and add comments, ideas. There is no admin or moderator. It is an open forum for those who are affected and interested in joining for action plans from now until changes are made.

Plans for what we should do, who to email/tweet on Sept 24 will be shared.
Thank you so much for going ahead with this. I am totally onboard.

I was about to say the same thing! Instead of bickering amongst ourselves, let us move past the negativity and support each other! :) We're not the ones that are making the process unbearable, don't take it out on each other! We have a common goal, and a common enemy...the enemy being the date that will never move :p

This forum would be half as useful if those experienced, knowledgeable and helpful members like screech wouldn't be here with us.

Hey Calm down, man.
I don't want to comment on the dispute going on between civic and screech, but it is very important to have people like screech339 in this forum because of the fact that he went through this process and he can answer to many of the questions we have. He's been helpful all the time and he is more than welcome to give us any advice. It's up to us to take it or leave it.

Lol, no it's not...although that would explain things! :) He's commenting on last years delays. And unfortunately, this isn't the first time the 2013 inlanders have had delays either. For those of you that have applied in the middle of the year, between February and April (or was it June?) it was stuck for about 3 months with no movement. As far as we know, there will always be delays here and there. There will probably always be a fluctuation of speeding up and slowing down of processing time. The fact of the matter is, until they give us more information on the inner workings of immigration processing, we'll never be able to know when or why things happen the way they do in the timelines. I bet you can go through every year of inlanders and there has always been a hiccup somewhere.

What happened in 2012? Can you elaborate the timeline back then?
How long was the timeline stuck for? What month did they pick up? and in how long afterward the fast processing began? Appreciate it.
In 2014, as of now we see 7 month without any movement. If 2012 was the same, I assume this is more to do with quota and the politics, rather than backlog as CIC has always blamed. If CIC is giving untrue statement to public, who has the right to audit them, or just because CIC is part of government there is no quality control in place for them?

Oh I can almost guarantee you it has something to do with quota and politics...like with every other country in the world, politics make the world go 'round the crazy way it does.
