Hi! Here's what CIC has to say about implied status:

"If your visitor visa expires after you have submitted your application for an extension of your authorization to remain in Canada, you will be considered in status as a temporary resident (visitor) until a decision is made on the application. This is known as implied status."

I do not believe they will send you an e-mail though. Keep in mind that it says " after you have submitted your application for an extension of your authorization to remain in Canada" which is the one we send for an OWP. So, I assume that all of those who sent an OWP a pplication will be considered an "implied visitor". Hope this helps. ;D

After much thread posting and questions I have finally posted my application for PR!

• Currently on IEC 2012 visa, expires July 16th 2013.
• Applied for Permanent Residency Inland through Spouse Sponsorship / Family Class
• Applied for Open Work Permit with same employer.

My application was received at CIC Vegreville, June 21st 2013.

There has been much debate as to whether or not I am eligible for Implies Status. I heard that you receive an email from CIC saying so, is this true?

Whatever happens, I will let you know.

FINGERS CROSSED, the hard part is over I hope! I would just like to give a big thank you to all the members who have helped me gather my application together. Had I not found this forum I don't know where I would be right now.

Hi all,
Quietly waiting and twiddling my thumbs while CIC drag their feet and are now on strike. I'm supposed to get AIP end of August, but I guess that has gone out the window for now!!!

It's another year of only one income, and because of my spouses change in marital situation, they've stopped all tax credits too! A double whammy for us.

Oh well....keeping the faith that all will work out quickly, if not on time.

Help needed....

I've just been on the CIC website to renew my visitor record. They've changed it all again grrrrrr.

I was not allowed to just apply for an extension, instead it sent me through a whole list of questions, at the end it said I was eligable to apply to stay by applying for family sponsorship!!!! DERRRRRRR DOH! Already in process grrrr.

So do I need to extand my visitor record or am I on applied status as I've applied for PR?????

Leon's signature lists a lot of the terms (but not all). That's the closest thing I've seen to a terminology thread. He's the first poster of the "Spousal" thread pinned to Family Class.

Ecas is short for Electronic Case System (or something very close). AOR means Acknowledgment of Receipt. AIP is Approved in Prinicipal, also called Stage 1 approval. (For Outland, it's also called Sponsor Approval because the application is processed differently.) DM = decision made, our goal

Okey so we have all the papers now and we just have to send them.

Does anybody know where is the post in which another member posted the pictures hao he aranged his app in the envelopes and stuff? I can't find it.

Which envelope format is the best for this stuff?

I wonder if we sent the right fees, $150 + $550?

Mine said "In Process" right away.

"We received your application to sponsor **** on January 23, 2013.

We started processing your application on February 12, 2013.

Weird.

And I believe you sent the right fees.

"Principal applicant (including $75 for sponsorship) = $550
A family member of the principal applicant who is less than 22 years of age and is not a spouse or common-law partner= $150"

I assume there is also a child?

So guys I called cic today and was told that as we all know by now that they are still processing October 8th apps and the 6 months is pretty much out the window.....sigh was looking forward to celebrate my daughter's first birthday in Guyana with her guess that won't be happening :'(

I didn't send in the PR application yet. but is the medical exam that is eventually required the same as the medical exam you get if you stay in Canada for longer than 6 months?

my wife had to do that exam since she's been here for more than 6 months on a visitor visa. can i just send in our copy of the exam and expect not to have to do anymore?
