I finally landed today in Etobicoke. We arrived at about 09.45am and interview was at 10.15am. The gentleman at reception was very nice ant yet professional. I gave him my invitation letter, he checked it and circled my interview time and also he asked me if my sponsor was with me, which is a requirement. I told him I was with my sponsor and he asked me to go towidow number 9 to confirm that I made the $490 online. At about 10.45 my partner and I were called, the lady asked for my sponsor's driving licence or proof if same address. Silly us, we had only his permanent resident card and an expired passport. The lady asked us to go back and get these documents to proventhat we are living together, basically they wanted letters etc with my partners name. We went back home which is about 45min to an hour away and came back with the documents. Eventually we were seen way after 15:30hrs and wooowza we got the COPR, I also got a permanent SIN number. Not to scare anyone but I think we had very strict staff members, a few people got declined and yes the staff can ask anything and everything. I could hear pple being asked a number of questions about their relationship.at least 2 couples returned home without COPR. All the best to all you waiting.

Congrats, however I don't think they got declined they probably just didn't have requirements (ID), when you do a landing interview it basically means your application is approved.

I don't want to take the medical unless I know that my sponsor is approve because it will just be a waste of money getting medical if the sponsor is not approve...im also not sure if its a standard procedure to take medical before they issue AIP?

This sounds like they are working on your file but there is an issue with some of the forms. My advice to you would be to send everything they ask quickly. It's only going to increase your waiting times otherwise.

I think best thing you can do is to call cic to ask..

Sounds like you're supposed to gave AIP already..

Pues aparentemente el oficial que estaba revisando aplicación la paró para trabajar con otras. El miercoles pasado tuve que llamar a CIC y le mandaron un mensaje a CPCV que por que mi aplicación estaba vacía y que se pusieran a trabajar con eso.. y bueno aun espero :S Lo curioso es que no tengo ninguna marca roja, ni nada, mi archivo estaba intacto. Esperemos que para finales de esta semana me den mi AIP y DM. Pagando karma Venezolano haha

You would think so, but not necessarily. We got asked to do medical and submit two forms. When we called CIC we were told we do not have AIP yet. The gentleman on the phone did say that usually they ask for that after AIP, but not always.

we might be in the same position activity..im just trying to think positive here...because I know myself that our relationship is genuine and true although we have 18 yrs age difference.. but to back up our application, we have sent emails back in 2009 when we first met, insurance showing beneficiary, tons of picture, tickets for our travel when we visited my parents in the Philippines, tax assessment showing me as the commonlaw partner...im not really sure whats happening,,,just hoping for the best..

I was just hoping that our file wont be transferred to local office...

Hi there, is pretty quick, they will ask you three questions.

1. Have you ever committed any crime ?
2. Do you have any dependants ?
3. Who is your sponsor ? or "Are you still married to your sponsor"..

PS: Also I heard the ask "What would you do if we refuse your application"

and that's it

We are expecting to have a baby in Canada a few days before the landing interview. how is that going to affect the sponsorship application? if we have the baby before we land, do we need to add the baby to the application or resubmit any forms? The baby will not need to apply for PR because he will be Canadian since he will be born in Canada.
any idea?
