Thanks!! Actutally you are before me. Your received application was June 24th, mine was June 28th!

:D got fingers crossed for us both... are you from BC also?
My partner is originally from Toronto, but we live in Winnipeg now. I would love to visit BC! We're hoping to take a road trip out west this summer.

Does anyone know why an application wouldn't get DM right away if everything had been provided with the original application?

Just wondering if it would be prudent for us to order GCMS notes again...

I hear you, Line.a. We are a very unique group and it's difficult to explain to family/friends. I was lucky enough to get AIP January 23rd, well... I didn't get the email because they sent it to the wrong email address that I had corrected with them months before but we do have it. :) Just waiting for the resent AIP to come through snail mail. Hubby was also approved for OWP. :)

It is such an amazing opportunity for you to go see your family though! Would it just be you going, or would your other half be tagging along? If you want clarification, I think you might be able to contact CBSA here and ask: 1-800-461-9999. I would hate for you to miss out on your trip because you weren't sure or could get some assurance and less hassle if you were to bring a few documents. :)

We did. The officer there was a lot nicer and didn't look twice at his work permit. We didn't have any trouble at all though his work permit was still valid for a few months, so I think that might have been why. But since his work permit expired (July 2013) we've been staying clear of the borders. We want the least amount of trouble as possible so we've been keeping our trips well within Canada. :)
We can't make up our minds right now, cause he'd really love to tag along with me and it would be a lot easier. But his work schedule is very hectic and has an a*s of a boss who probably would whine if he requests time off.. :D But otherwise we are going in June hopefully when everything is done and over with. But then I may be working, so it's really tough! Guess it will be decided over the week. So many things to take into consideration. Haha thanks! Congrats on your AIP as well! Hopefully you get your OWP real soon :)

Hubby just received his OWP in the mail today. We received AIP on January 23rd so it took about a week. We also received a paper print out of the same email that hubby received... So I guess I was never meant to receive the AIP email. :p

If they do not list anything in this document, then we are not required to send any further information, correct?

You have to remember that by being with your husband when you both re-enter Canada, it gives a lot of weight to your husband being able to get back into Canada. It makes it much harder on the agent to deny your husband into Canada with you standing there with him. I am not saying there is no risk, but the risk factor will drop considerable with you with him.

Much easier to deny your husband if he traveled out by himself and he trying to re-enter Canada.

@ line.a

When we moved back to Canada with my wife and 2 kids from US, my wife had a Canadian TRV. I told my intention on moving back to Canada and will be sponsoring my wife for PR. They could have denied my wife to come in on account of "permanently staying" but it would be very difficult for them to do this to my wife with me and 2 kids in the car.

Had my wife traveled alone to Canada while I was in Canada and 2 kids, she would likely have been denied to re-enter Canada.

Thanks Screech, I can't thank you enough for your great answers!

My partner is the Canadian one, but regardless i think you may very well be right. I would not risk it and it's probably best if we wait, to make it smoother. I can't even imagine me being denied entry and everything being wasted what we have waited so much for. So I think we'd wait! He definitely won't be able to get time off anyway, and it will put me a lot of ease knowing I have the PR card on hand, instead of wasting time worrying about it too much when I'm going home. Thank you! :)

Oh sorry for getting you mixed up as being the sponsor and your husband being the applicant.

My mistake.

I can imagine how tough it is, Cirene. I'm sorry to hear that you have not had your good news emails yet. Line.a had to wait 330 days before she heard something as well and while it is disheartening to watch people who have applied after you get approved, your good news is coming, I promise you. I don't think they've lost your application, but it's probably with a slower officer. Have you contacted CIC yet?

Chin up, Cirene! We're all here for you! And thank you!

:)

Thank you, Line.a! We're pretty happy. :) Doesn't look like we have to send in any additional documents so that's great as well!

Yeah I called CIC and one of the officers told me it was "weird" that I haven't heard anything. He said that they usually post "notes" when they take so long to review an application but that was not my case. My file is clean! Seems like the officer opened my application and that's it, there is nothing wrong about it but they haven't done anything either... "It's in process"...

I also called because my eCAS changed.. a week ago it used to say "Application Received on April 2 2013" and now it says "Application Received on April 2 2012" And I called them about it too and the officer on Tuesday told me that it wont affect my application but the officer on Wednesday told me that that was weird and he sent a message to CPC-V regathering my application.. so I'm still waiting :(
