I land 22nd Jan @ Calgary :) ! So am guessing everyone should be checking their emails too for landing letter in case its sent via e-mail like how mine was.

Welcome!

You should PM guri once you are able to, so he can get it! He's the one in charge of the spreadsheet :)

Thanks! Do you know when I'm able to send a PM?

We got our AIP and OWP today! (Jan 13)

Wow what an amazing feeling! Just last night I was commenting to my partner about how fast they seem to be whipping through the Feb. applications, and then in the middle of a really crappy work day today he texted a dozen smiley faces and a lot of exclamation marks my way saying "CHECK YOUR EMAIL!" I was in class but definitely let out a squeal when I read it!

For reference: Sent Mar 15 / AOR Mar 27 / Meds and Police check sent in with app / OWP sent in with app

Good luck to the Feb/March applicants! It's coming!

How did you receive the OWP and AIP?

Was the AIP sent via Email and the OWP sent with your Mail? So I am guessing you don't need to cross the boarder at the point to active your work permit?

Congrats, AmyJP! Looking forward to hearing more good news today! I'm checking my email everyday now!

Also, I was thinking of calling CIC as hubby and I sent in a bit more unrequested relationship support documents (car lease, insurance papers, photos etc.) at the beginning of December. I called two weeks after to see if they had been joined up with our original application and the agent said that there was no record of it being joined up but that it was too soon for them to join up the documents with the original application. Seeing as how they're processing stuff now for March applicants, should I call back and ask if the additional unrequested info has been joined up with our original application?

Congrats to those who got their aip and dms!!! :)

I have a question: has anyone tried opening a bank account in canada? I need to open one but apparently they need canadian id or proof of legal status here. Theres no proof i can show them since im on implied status ( sent inland pr with owp on august 20 2013). Has anyone successfully opened an account here?

Also,i justhad my baby girl here last dec 5. Do i need to inform cic aout this? Thanks!!!

I have a few questions.....my husband and I applied for spousal sponsorship inland. Application was received by CIC in Vegreville March 28th, 2013. we received our AIP letters November 19th, 2013. OWP application was submitted December 27th, 2013. My question is, will CIC contact us for the medical for the stage 2 process? its been about 2 months since receiving the AIP letters and we haven't heard anything yet regarding the medical. I did call CIC call centre and they said that a letter will be send out regarding the medical, but seeing as its been 2 months since getting the letters I'm getting a little impatient, I don't want to go ahead and do that medical without notification from CIC either ACK! what to do!

Second question.....what happens with the OWP? Will the permit be mailed to us? do we then go to Service Ontario to get a temp SIN?? Sorry for all the questions I have no idea what to expect and half the time I have no idea if I'm doing any of this right, its all a little too much details at once sometimes... Shocked

Thanks All!

My husband has both a bank account and a credit card, though he was signed up for both while he was in the country on a study permit and then a work permit. He did have to pay a collateral fee on the credit card when he signed up, but I assume that it was in case he left and didn't pay off his debts to them.

I would try to go to the bank that you plan on opening your account with and showing them your AOR email and any other evidence you have that you are on implied status and that there is an application in the works.

Let's help Guri to update the spreadsheet. I'm so excited for all of you guys.

It looks about right for me.

I am calling CIC right now to figure out what is going on with my OWP... I submitted it in November....

Go ahead and do your medical. The wait time for stage 2 is "officially" 8 months according to the CIC website. Your medical is valid for 1 year from the date it is done. Since you already have AIP, I think it's safe to prepare for stage 2. Getting your medical out of the way and sent off means that there will be less delay when CIC asks for it, then you have to get it done and sent it off.

When OWP is approved, it will be mailed to you. I'm not 100% sure myself on the SIN number portion of your question, so instead of providing half-truth answers, I'll let another person get back to you on this part.

You should inform CIC about your baby.

When should I contact CIC?
You must notify CIC of any changes to your application. Examples of changes include:
• Changes in your personal circumstances, such as birth or adoption of a child, a marriage or a divorce

As tomorisu mentioned, you have to let CIC know about this, even though the baby is considered Canadian and doesn't need to be sponsored. CIC may ask you to refill the family form IMM5406 with the baby added to list as dependent as you must list all children in section B.

I have a question about OWP.

I sent my OWP appplication on November 28 (while the PR application was sent in March). I just called CIC and was informed that they are working on OWP received on November 10. Can anybody comment on whether this timeline is accurate?

Thanks!
