I applied in may 2013 inland sponsership application

Whenever i check my application status it says

Application recived on may 6 thts it it doesnt processing

Or anything else can anyone tell wht tht means usually i read

Other people comments after 2 months it start saying application in process

My application was received on May 6th as well

Our says they started processing it on May 15th. (The sponsor part)
But my (the applicant) part only says "Application received".

I have heard and read a lot thay ecas isnt very consistent at all and sometimes the VO doesnt update it at all.

I would give CIC a call and confirm

Happy for you 2013ers that good news is starting to roll in! Your time is coming!

As for the ECAS stuff - I waited a little over 10 months for AIP. Throughout that time, my sponsor's ECAS said "app received" and "we started processing your app (date)," and my ECAS said, "we received your app on (date)." I got AIP and DM on the same day, and a few days or a week later, my ECAS said "we started processing your app on (date AIP and DM received)."

Yeah, I personally felt very discouraged back when processing 2012 applications stopped a good few months. Having applied in April, it seemed like there was little point in starting the (2013) race too early. Now that things are moving, it is far more encouraging to join in and share my experience with the rest of you.

Congratulations on the the good news for those who received it, and the best of luck for those still waiting!!

I sent an OWP app., but did not send medical or police check with app., although I'm considering doing so soon, so I have a chance of getting AIP and DM at the same time! If anyone has any advice or suggestions about sending those documents now, I would much appreciate it!

I've also sent a visitor extension, however I'm from the US and did not receive a stamp upon entry, so I'm nervous that they may deny the extension because there is a lack of proof that I entered when I did!

Hi aman,

We didn't realize that there were 2 files (one for the sponsor and one for me) until we got AIP, so you should check the letter you got from CIC and look at the UCIs. If you can't find your spouse's UCI you can contact CIC (although this is always the last step for me, too much hassle). So, they may have already started to process your spouse's file, but this doesn't show in your updates. For the record, we got AIP on Tuesday and my status still says "Application received".

Btw, guri: If you like you can put in the spreadsheet that we applied with meds done and (German) police check. I'm not sure if that field only refers to Canadian police check. We also didn't apply for OWP, because I have a student visa.

I am so hopeful to get DM soon, now that so many people who have applied at the same time as us have already gotten theirs. Crossing fingers for everyone else to receive good news, too!

Guys, I am in the process of putting together my application to submit and I just need some advice or suggestions.......

I am in a same sex marriage with my partner, we are both from a country where being in a same sex relationship is actually against the law and is a crime.

My partner is also a citizen of Canada and is sponsoring me. I came to Canada 3 years ago on a student visa and I am on a work permit right now. Because our relationship is frowned upon, some of our family and friends both in Canada and from our country are not aware of the marriage, they believe we are just good friends. We go to church together, shopping, take classes together and other very private things.

Our fear is that we can't afford to let the knowledge of our marriage get to our family back in our country as we will both be disowned.

So my concern is when it comes to our photos to submit..... We hardly take photos as my partner completely hates taking pics and is just doing it for the application, plus is afraid of the photos getting back to our family.

Thus far I have a total of about 35 pics, we spend a lot of time doing things together, so there are not many emails, but we do have our phone records, texts and IMs........so should I be worrying about the photos taking our 'special' situation into consideration. How many pictures should I aim to submit, I think I can talk my partner into taking some more, just need to know how much is a good amount.

We only sent about 20 pictures along with a friend's affidavit swearing that we are a couple, so if you know a lawyer you could get that too.

This seems like a really special situation and I don't know if a lot of people here can help you, as it is so unique. From a common sense point of view I would say, don't send fake pictures. If your partner doesn't feel comfortable having their picture taken, this might show in the photo and I feel like that could backfire. You can send them an explanation of your situation and tell them how you've met and give them all the evidence you have, such as bedside notes or letters, emails, chat logs, joint bank account info, joint insurance, etc.

This, and I would add, no point about freakin' out about it, the description you gave us of your problem is the one you should send with your application, explain, tell the truth, same sex marriage is legal in Canada and you have nothing to be ashamed of or afraid, just let them know that you want to keep it secret to your families and that is the reason why you don't have many pictures.
Try to prove the truthfulness of the marriage with other proof, like joint bank accounts, joint rent receipts, electrical bill, water bill, etc.
I wish you guys all the luck and please don't be in fear, if you tell the truth you don't need to remember anything

How long does it usually talk to be able to log into the sponsor's ecas? I tried my husband's but it didnt work. However, when I used my UCI or application number, it is showing app received too.

Hi bruneian. In my case, i got to log in the same time with sponsor's and mine. Make sure when you put your husband's uci, you also put his details like his name and birthday.
