You don't know doesn't mean it's not there or true. And I am not obligated to provide evidence to you. You can do your own research and find responses from Minister Alexander on the quota issue if you wish. As I said before, I don't want to have any personal conversation with you. You do not need to care what I say and I don't give a s*** of what you say. Out of my way please. :)

P.S: Read the comment carefully before acting like a police. There is no cap for number of applications but there is annual cap for processing and landing for each category. Go find it yourself.
Unfortunately Eric is right about the quota issue.
I read it as some of MPs confirmed as they were told by CIC when they inquired about the delay.
Also if you read CIC statistics say (68,000) for sponsorship both spouses and parents... They count applications from this and previous years and when they reach to 68000 application; no more DM will be made.

Do you (or anyone else) have a link to this information? This is the first I've heard about any sort of quota...

Please provide links so I can read up on it. I like to know whether there is in fact a quota or is it just based on the huge applications to process, due to limited staff resources, that they can only handle so many can be processed or completed per year that it appears to be a quota. It makes sense if the limited staff that have on hand can only handle about 68000 applications per year but that doesn't mean its a quota.

Ha ha ha, Again with the "Police" comment? Really?? Very mature of you.

I responded to your post in a professional manner without any demeanor towards you and yet you come back with a very rude response. Yes very professional of you.

Why should I look for it myself? You were the one who made the claim. Besides, when I provide factual statements or claims, I provides links to back up what I say. You haven't provided any. So I won't take your words for it until you back it up. What you have provided is all hearsay or speculation and nothing else. Even you know that hearsays / speculation won't hold up in court as evidence.

You can find the annual admission quota on CIC website (2014/2015 admission plan) and if you want to see written responses from Chris Alexander in regards to Inland sponsorship you can go to the Facebook page to download the file. People have it there.

Its not my business but screech339 & Civic there is no need for hard arguments or clashes... We should be at the same side.. we help not fight each other. Sorry if anyone would take this as interruption.

Thank you for providing the link where to find it (more like directions where to find it). Now that wasn't so hard was it?

I even post a link so others can click on it.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/rpp/2014-2015/#a2.2.1.1

I see that it says targets of 45000-48000 by each calendar year. I also notice that the staff numbers are dropping from 249 to 235. It means each staff member would have to handle 180 applications per year. (45000 / 249) That translates to 15 applications per month or 1 application every 2 days. I got to say that is rather low number. I would have expected more applications per staff.

At the same time, it says targets, not capped quota. There is nothing to say they are not prevented from going above 48,000 either. But I am disappointed in the low target numbers though.

The link provided above shows PR spouses have been consistent of over 4000 annual, latest at 4772 for 2013 and has been increasing since 2011 (4311). Overall family category including children and parents/grandparents are 14036.

So it appears that the target mentioned earlier posts / links shows a target of 45000-48000 far exceeds the usual 4000 numbers for spouses only. So it appears that the target of 45000-48000 is not that low after all. I got to say that is a rather high goal to set in comparison.

What do you think Civic? Any thoughts?

So, I'm having a hard time understanding why the issue of quotas/targets was brought up in the first place. They expected to have 68,000 family sponsorship applications (48,000 of which being spousal sponsorship) but according to their quarterly admin data release, they have received 35,377 applications YTD. So why was this brought up as a potential reason for the delays - I'm obviously missing something...

Those numbers don't match up with the ones in their data release - I'm confused

another link. the quarterly administration data release.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/statistics/data-release/2013-Q4/index.asp

This link shows that family class PR at year end 2013 at 79,586. Mind you, the number include parents/grandparents and children. Of that, how many of them are through spousal PR alone, I can't say. There is no number assigned there.
