Hi Nervousme:

I really understand your frustration, I was in the same boat until yesterday. They were changing my times frames, done medicals several times and always something was expiring and was the never ending history. I got really mad last month when they told me that now my second security check was expired and that they will have to do it again.

I wrote to: Minister @ cic.gc.ca., Honourable Chris Alexander MP, Citizenship and Immigration Minister. Hope that helps.

Good luck!!!

Minerva

Thanks so much. I will give it a shot. I will try everything until I've exhausted all my resources. Just a shame how long people are having to wait.

As for you yeah!!! On decision made. They are pretty quick after that from what I've seen.

Hi screech339

Can you tell me what they ask at the landing interview?.

Thanks

The usual 3 questions asked:

Have you been convicted in Canada?
Do you have any children not listed in COPR?
Have you been denied entry to any country?

Thanks!!!!! I hope Etobicoke wont take that long!!!

The process of landing takes about 10-15 mins. No fanfare, nothing. The lengthy part is the waiting for your name to get called to the booth. After you sign COPR, passport and COPR stamped, you then go back to waiting area and wait to get called to SIN booth where they issue you your permanent SIN. If your husband has a temporary SIN, the agent at SIN booth need to know so that the agent can link your temporary SIN and replace it with Permanent SIN.

My husband finally landed, he got his COPR. It took us only 10mins. ,just the 3basic questions were asked. The long wait is over. Thanks everyone who had been accommodating answering questions during our journey.

Congrats to you, arhel, and your husband!

I only hope once I get the second medicals done for my non-accompanying children, that the fact you got your DM and landing, mine will soon follow.

If they throw even more barriers for me (3rd medical for me, another FBI check, etc.), you can be sure my wife and I will be contacting the PM named same as you.

Congrats on your husband becoming PR. One last piece of the puzzle left. PR card.

Hi everyone:

We finally got decision made yesterday!!!!! It has been a longgggggggggg wait, but finally is over. I was so frustrated with all this process!!! I even wrote a letter last month to the Immigration Minister, maybe this helped us. My husband has a non-accompanying dependent and I this was the never-ending history.

Does anyone know how long it take for the Etobicoke to contact you?

Thanks

Minerva

Congrats, Minerva!

Minerva,

When this happened, did you still submit your 2nd background check or did they cancel their need for it?

-Brian

They cancel their need for it.

Another good news for me!!! Yesterday we received our landing appointment. It will be March 18. Anyone has any recent experience?

Thanks!!

Minerva

Finally after 30 months since we submitted or application and 24 months after they started working on our application we got the email we have been long waiting for.
Today is one of the happiest and relieving days.
We got an email today and I quote "
We are pleased to advise you that processing of your application has been completed. The Canada Immigration Centre in Edmonton will contact you concerning your permanent resident status."
