To my knowledge, only the applicant can apply for GCMS notes. If the sponsor was able to get GCMS, it would violate your right to privacy and confidentiality, which is why I don't think the sponsor can even ask for GCMS notes.

Thank you so much Screech. You're always ready to help with anything! I really appreciate that. Blessings!

In our case, we applied through sponsor and included Access to information form signed by the applicant and it worked.

Hi Guri,

Would you happen to have the link for the GCMS form for sponsor as well as the access to info for applicant?. Thanks.

Yeah, I thought about that as well. But I wanted to request it online. Did you requested your notes online?

Finally received Landing Interview notice from Calgary office; we haven't gotten anything in lettermail, but e-mail was received this morning (dated 4 Feb). Landing Interview is 26 February!

Congrats on getting your landing date. It is unusual to get an email instead of snail mail but it is still good to get the news. I got your status updated. Thanks for your feedback.

This is why we say about 98% of the time, landing letters get sent via snail mail. You just happen to fall in the 2% minority.

Screech, have you seen other cases where email was sent for DM?
Thanks

Thanks

So far almost all DM were sent via email. Getting DM through letter or email falls in the very very small minority. However if you meant landing letters via email, yes. There was a couple of cases. One gotten landing date by phone. A couple of other gotten email of landing date. Very very few.

Thanks guri! I just sent the request. How long did it take for you to receive the notes, if you don't mind me asking. I know it says 30 days, but we all know how accurate CIC can be. LOL

Mine were a bit delayed, took 40 days for unknown reasons. But , from what I have seen people get them in 30-35 days.

That must have drove you insane! 30-35 makes sense though, I bet they have a lot to work on. Anyways, thanks once again. ;)

That's what I gather. Reading through this forum, some people got an e-mail but only significantly after their letter arrived, and some even after their landing date.

However, just as a note, we called CIC at the two month mark from receiving DM and said it had been two months without hearing from local office RE: landing, so we wanted to know whether our app had been passed on. The gentleman on the phone said that everything pointed to the app being sent and that it was "odd" that we hadn't heard anything yet, and offered to send a fax to the local office mentioning how long had passed (at first he didn't think two months had passed and was about to tell us to wait, but then he counted down on a calendar and realised it had). Don't know whether he did or not, but a week later we get this landing e-mail. Maybe a similar procedure might help another person. Some CIC agents are honestly willing to help you, and kudos to them.
