IMPORTANT Question.
I'm awaiting DM. was hoping to have it by now but don't have anything yet. Still waiting just like many of you.
My wife is sponsoring me.
I'm the principal applicant and we have no dependants.

we declared on the form that we are not pregnant. but that might have changed - very early so could still be just our imagination but my wife might be expecting our first child... (This is good news for us by the way.)

What do I need to do and when?

should I inform CPC?
if so then when should I?

Has this happened to anyone else here?

please let me know.

Also good luck for the rest who are still awaiting DM.

Thanks

Imo

It depends really on the timing of the expected baby arrival time. If you are landing before the baby arrives, then you don't have to do anything.

If the baby is due to arrive before you land, you must inform CIC so that they can add the baby to the COPR. If the baby is being born within Canada (I'm assuming this since you posted this in the "inland" thread) you need to add baby to COPR, not as a PR sponsor but as a Canadian dependent. You may have to delay the landing until after baby is born.

If you don't add baby to COPR before landing, you could be charged for misrepresentation, even though the baby will be Canadian and doesn't need to be sponsor. Kind of hard to stand in front of CIC agent with a newborn in your hand and COPR does not list the newborn.

HI. We initially sent our inland spouse application on March 22, 2012. I received approval in principle on October 2012. They asked for medicals then, and I sent it. They asked for my argentine police certificate and I sent it. a year later, September 2013, they request that i send a police certificate for mexico. They didn't ask for it initially when they asked for everything, but they asked a year later. a fken year later.

Today I call to see if they received my police certificate from mexico, which i did the process for on September, and by november they had received it. So they did receive my police certificate. The lady said the only thing they were waiting for, is my in-canada criminal check.

Does anybody know how the fk long does that take? the in canada criminal check?

Now, I've heard this situation before. It turns out that my medicals have expired. I sent them on october 2012. October 2013 they expired sure enough. The lady on the phone said they MAY ask me to re do them again.

Has anybody been asked to do the medicals AGAIN here??? any information on that? should i be proactive and do them again before they even ask?

I need some serious enlightenment, please help, we applied for this thing two years ago!!!!

First of all, why are you ticked off about them asking about your Mexico and Argentine police records. If you don't submit them with your application, don't expect a smooth process. You will be at CIC's mercy in terms of waiting for them to ask for police checks delaying the process even more. Had you submitted the 2 police checks in with the application, you wouldn't be in the mess you are in now.

As for medical, usually they extend the validity of the medical up to another 12 months. Mind you, this is 100% up the the agent's decision. Not the rule. If an agent want a new medical, you got no choice but to do it again. If the agent extended it, all good for you. No extra cost in doing the medical again.

Yeah... thanks for your reply. You are right, I should have sent the police certificates with the application. How retarded of me to think that sending it first while getting the police stuff done (mind you, I had to travel to the other side of the country to get it). Oh well, now we are here.

The question is, do you know how long it takes to do this in-canada police check?? apparently it is the only thing I am waiting for... do u know anything about that???

I think your best bet is to go to your local RCMP office and ask them to set up a police report for immigration purposes.

I am not 100% familiar with the RCMP procedure as my wife was never asked for this. We did go to local Ontario police for fingerprints for FBI (No RCMP offices in ontario except Ottawa) and they told us to go to a private fingerprint office.

Usually when asked for canada police record, it is usually done to separate your identity from a person with same name and birthdate living in Canada with a criminal record. This is to protect your identity from the criminal one.

Having to go through the PR application, especially inland process due to it long long unfair wait, you have to remember you are not alone in this. The forum will help you through the process and also help you deal with the stress better. Plus questions asked on here also help you through the steps needed without resorting to poor CIC's response to help, and or lawyers.

Hang in there and the light at the end will come soon.

Your husband has gotten a decision made. The local CIC will send him a landing letter on when to land as PR.

Congrats.
