Whoa that's so fast! Congratulations sounion ;D

Congrats Sounion! What a beautiful post, thanks for sharing! I teared up a little, feeling my own joy and relief echoed in your own. And I completely understand that lingering feeling of waiting. I suppose I'm still waiting for my PR card, but the feeling is bigger than that. I think it takes a while to forget about waiting. And I don't think I'll ever forget what it feels like to have my happiness in the hands of strangers who have never met me, and to be at the mercy of a large, bureaucratic government agency from which it's impossible to get satisfying information.

Welcome to Canada, PR! :)

Congrats to all of you have good news.

My hubby just received his landing interview letter today. The letter is dated on Nov 18 and the interview is on Dec 10. Our app was received on Dec 11, 2012. So it takes us the whole year to land.

One thing we concerned is that we need to bring the receipt of landing fee $490. However, we paid it at the first place when we sent the app. We have a receipt showing paid $1040 at the bank. Is this gonna work?

my husband and I would like to go home for the Holidays in the Philippines this Dec. 16. and I don't think my PR card will arrive before we leave because I landed Oct. 28, Do u think it is possible for me to apply for Travel Document, or will I have problems obtaining a Travel Document? Or do you suggest I have the PR Card mailed to my country by a friend?

Thanks.

Hello everyone, congrats to everyone that has received good news over the last weeks, I have been following every single post and even though I do not post very often, I am happy together with the people that get good news, sad and frustrated with the people that have set backs on the road. Lately, I myself have been feeling pretty low, I don't know if the long wait, or the fact that I miss my family so much, or the fact that I didn't get a job that I was really hoping for :(....in any case, every time I see someone passed through the hellish process and I feel a bit better. I can't wait for all of us to get the good news :). I wish everybody luck and patience, and lots of happy moments to help bring more happiness in this long waiting process.

I (and I think everyone) know what you mean.

Thank you all for your kind words :)

That should be fine. They just need the receipt number. Ours was already in their system, but I was in the middle of pulling it up in my email on my phone when they told me they had it.

I would apply for the Travel Document.

Well my journey has come to a fantastic end :) I have my pr card in hand, medical coverage, social insurance number and start my new job on Monday. This site really has been invaluable. Thanks to everyone for sharing their experiences.

Or apply for the urgent PR card processing if you have flights booked

@Connie121
See you at the landing Dec 10 and yes your first receipt for the full amount is what you need.

If you sent in OWP with your application, they will notify you by email on getting your OWP approved. It is not a rule that OWP must be approved same time as AIP. OWP will be processed after AIP. It is just a matter of good timing when people get OWP and AIP same time. Generally OWP is approved same time but not 100% of the time. You may want to wait a day or 2 before calling CIC about your OWP.

Just thought I'd share the update on this in case it happens to someone else. We called CIC yesterday morning and the lady told us that the work permit was sent on Nov. 19th, same day we received the sponsor eligibility e-mail. We told her that we never received that second e-mail saying that OWP was approved and she said they don't usually send an e-mail - which experience on this forum tells us is not the case! So as usual, the information coming from CIC agents is inconsistent. Regardless, the OWP should arrive in our mailbox on Monday. Yippeeee! :)
