Thanks nairaboy for your encouragement!

@ Doe123: Thanks for your understanding! So when did you get DM and how long have you waited for landing interview?

I paid total $ 1040 (just check the receipt and the confirmation letter "AIP") when I began applying in February 2012. I think it already included the PR fee, right?
I think so. We did the same. Paid all the fees when we applied.

So after several calls, we eventually got through to the call centre, and were told it would take 5-6 months for the office in Vancouver to contact us. We also decided to pay the right of permanent residence fee online. But I wanted to ask those of you on these forums if it's understood how they know you've now paid it? I can't remember the information they ask for when creating the account needed to pay it online. And it's my understanding you don't send a copy to them, and just hold onto it until the appointment. It's also possible someone may use a credit card belonging to a close relative or friend. It may be important they know we've now paid it, in case that determines when landing appointments are made or something.

I think the requirement is that you paid it. But when the payment was made isn't as important. We paid everything at initial application and we still happened to wait almost 6 months for our landing. But things may be moving faster now for the Vancouver office! I don't think everyone will need to wait months like we did.

Question: my letter doesn't state that my sponsor needs to attend.
I was of the understanding that they did. Correct?

I'm so glad to hear that cic start to give AIP for applications received in December 2012 ! My app was received on Dec 3,2012 ,and AOR on Jan 18,2013
I can't wait to get my AIP !

Yes, your sponsor needs to attend and needs to have a photo ID.

The CIC officer needs to make sure your sponsor still wants to sponsor you. ;) My husband was asked what the officer called the million dollar question. "Sir, do you still wish to sponsor your wife?"

Congrats on nearing the finish line!

Let's hope he says yes :-p

When I received AIP email, it said my work permit has been approved.
But I called cic today and the officer told me cic has been still reviewing my work permit application.

At this point, I have no idea about the word "approved" for my work permit.

I was *quite* glad my darling husband didn't decide to be a comedian that morning! Of course, he's so spoiled, he might starve to death if anything ever happens to me, so he probably didn't want to jeopardize the magic that makes food magically appear in front of him (and magically makes clean laundry appear in the drawers, and magically keeps the house clean, and puts groceries in the fridge, and etc.). :-D

Re: INLAND APPLICATIONS 2012 -August 2012 Advice

I have been checking this website for some time, and decided to put a post on today. My initial application was sent in August 2012. I got AIP in May of this year.

When can I call CIC to ask for a progress report, due to the strike would you guys recommend waiting until the end of January 2014.

14 months on I am losing the will to wait.

What are your thoughts and what is the best number to call to check on my application. I also used a lawyer so will they talk to either the spouse or applicant.

Knowing my husband to be... He will be a comedian... :-)
