I wonder why I'm getting no luck until now. While most of my friends here who applied in March 2012 or later already got the landing date and just waiting for their PR cards, I had to wait 11.5 months just for stage 2 to be completed = DM (checking background, really? I'm a normal person, just eat, sleep, study and work; exercise sometimes ::)) even though applying in February 2012. Now I will have to continue waiting another 5-6 months (based on Vancouver CIC responses) for landing interview plus 2-3 months for PR cards. Wow! That's really tough for me :-X

Anyway, congratulations to you guys who have just got AIP, DM and PR cards. Hopefully there will be more good news tomorrow, Monday, hohoho!
Our feelings are definitely mutual; we applied the month before you. So when did you decide to pay the right of permanent residence fee? I am wondering if that may be a factor in when applicants receive an appointment.

So after several calls, we eventually got through to the call centre, and were told it would take 5-6 months for the office in Vancouver to contact us. We also decided to pay the right of permanent residence fee online. But I wanted to ask those of you on these forums if it's understood how they know you've now paid it? I can't remember the information they ask for when creating the account needed to pay it online. And it's my understanding you don't send a copy to them, and just hold onto it until the appointment. It's also possible someone may use a credit card belonging to a close relative or friend. It may be important they know we've now paid it, in case that determines when landing appointments are made or something.

I'm so excited, just got my DM today! (which is surprising since I just got my AIP on Oct. 15). My application was received Nov. 23, 2012. Cic has really been on the ball lately! :)

My question is now that stage 2 is completed, what happens next? It said in the DM letter that VO Fredricton would be contacting me soon, but not much info beyond that. Also, what is the expected timeline for the next step to be done? Just can't wait to have this PR process finished up. :)

TIA!!!

Congrats lulu_02 on your AIP. Let me know when you get your OWP in the mail. Could you please also let me know what country you are coming from and where you are living now? I would appreciate your feedback. Would like to update timesheet along with AIP date.

Hi Crashwire, welcome to the forum and congrats! :)
You will receive a letter form the VO Fredericton and it will announce you about the date of your landing interview. If you haven't payed RPRF yet, the letter will also tell you to pay it.

Applied to go back on Alberta Health ok October 16th with my AIP email and confirmation of OWP. Haven't had any further request for info, so I guess that is all Alberta Health needed.

Did you call them? Or just go to the registry? How long will you get it? Do you have to bring the old one to them or they issue the new one for you?

Cheers!

Online it just says, "Application Received", yet the woman at CIC said it says, "In Process". Yay for confusing messages!

Me too @sounion. I asked the woman why it didn't depict online as how she said it. Then she answered that it will only be posted online if I receive email from them. Anyway , I had missed call from unknown number last Saturday, but then I was admitted at the hospital and I left my phone at home. As what I've read here , cic will call u first before they send the AIP email. I suspect it was the Cic.

It is quite rare of CIC to call you before issuing AIP. If this happens, I suspects they were having doubt about your relationship and probably want to set up interview before issuing AIP. The majority of them that gotten an interview before AIP have gotten emails asking for interview. This is from observation and feedback from those that gotten interview requests before AIP.

We called them and they told us to go to the local registry and have them fax my documents in.

Forgot to answer your other questions. I was told they would probably send me a new card, but with the same number. And it should be permanently now from what I was told.

Just got an email from CIC with my PR DM! 6 days after AIP!!! Definitely making some movement in Vegreville now! Haven't received any of the letter docments yet, but right now I am so excited that I don't care. Whooo!!!
