My wife was requested to fax her passport.
We faxed 2 days ago.
Nothing happened yet and no confirmation call from cic.
It turned out it was a data entry mistake - cic put wrong numbers of my wife's birthday.

Some people got AIP email on Sat, Sun.
So I still have a hope.
I don't want to be an unidentified person anymore
like Matt damon on the bourne series.
And I hope cic compensates their mistake.

Question is how would you know that your OWP is issued before you receive it in the mail ? If that is possible, I dont think you will get a valid SIN card without physical permit. And without a valid SIN card ( you own SIN number ), employer will be unable to hire ( doesnt matter if its odd or even job )

My husband received confirmation for his work permit Friday Sept 20th and we received it Thursday Sept 26th. He went to the service Canada office Friday morning and got temperary SIN immediately.... Legally.. you need to wait for that to work... the employer must ask your SIN 3 days after you start.
If its cash job, I wouldn't worry about it waiting... You should be receiving it VERY SOON!

Some of the people who are wanting me to do stuff for them are cash jobs. And they've been waiting since June (when I was told I would receive my OWP by CIC). Just wanting to get on these jobs as soon as I legally can.

Doesn't that suck? Same boat. Thought I'd be WAAAAYYYYY further along than I am.

Majorly. Hoping now that CIC is back at work those AIPs and OWPs will just flow in. Really need mine in the next two weeks to keep these customers and start my work.

You wouldn't "change" it, you'd just request a study permit. You can hold both at the same time.

For those who wondered about implied status under PGWP, here is a link to another thread on this forum indictating that PGWP cannot get "implied status" while on Inland PR. This time CIC has gotten it down in writing confirming this.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/post-graduate-work-permit-implied-status-or-not-t167300.0.html

So if you are on PGWP, you cannot work pass the expire date unless you happen to get OWP before it expires.

As tempting as it is, don't think it will work. Don't think they can offer me a competitve salary to make me quit my current job. Plus my wife is not fond of the cold alberta temp there. So stratch that opportunity. LOL.

Now if they move Vegreville processing centre to my home province of Newfoundland and match my pay or more and cover my moving expenses, then I'll consider it. LOL.

Yes Screech you should seriously consider working with CIC...I admire your knowledge so much.

I called CIC today and was told that the Decision Made email was sent to my Lawyers office. And the email was sent on September 29th.

When I called the agent read out my lawyers email address but after hanging up I felt strange because somewhat I knew my lawyer has a gmail account not a dot net ( .net) account. So I quickly called back and she said yes I was right that the email was never received by my lawyer because of the wrong email address.

Anyway she read my DM letter and it said a Decision was made on September 29th 2013 blah blah... and I would be landing at Etobicoke Office...

So hopefully I can get my landing date soon!!!
