GOOD NEWS!!!
I got the I am approved to Sponsor...and my husband got the ... This letter refers to your application for a work permit.
Your application has been approved and your new document will be sent separately... we overpaid.. they will send refund...

IS THIS AIP? OR NOT QUITE YET?

Congrats Victorswife....Wish I could say wholeheartedly congrats on your AIP but CIC is only issuing "partial AIPs" for a lack of a better word.... As least the fact your hubby got OWP is like AIP anyways I guess so lucky for u both.

@Screech: Yes I really want a work permit so am gonna go ahead and apply for it.

Congrats. Sounds like your husband got AIP on account that he got OWP. After all you can't get OWP without AIP first. I will update sheet come monday.

I am concern that this is the 3rd or 4th person that gotten a sponsor AIP and no applicant AIP in a row. Hope this isn't a trend. Going to create a lot of confusion / hassle for applicants that want to go on provincal health coverage.

Screech I said the same thing .... Its the 4th person now and yes it looks like the trend.

Congratulation to Jolly, Victorwife and QuebecOkie..

Also congratulation to Sunbrey..
I just feel sorry to my friend, Jiggy....Keep moving on..

I'm indeed very happy for those who have received AIP's and their time frame is based on the time they filed their application (last week of October -first of November and t they receive their AIP) but I'm feeling bad for myself , my application was filed on oct 29, 2012 and yet until now no AIP yet but I read there are some applicants who applied later than me have received their AIP or the sponsor's approval. :(

Anyway, CONGRATS for those who have good news from their application! :-*

The time line is the date that cic finishes all of normal applications.
If you see later than oct 29th on cic website, then that's strange.
So I think your application has been reviewing or cic has sent AIP to your address.

Good luck for you!

@ Mahlik and sunsun... I found it strange indeed that u guys haven't heard anything at all now that they already started with November applications... I wud suggest you call.

I already did, but sh said hasn't processed my application yet.

I think the definition of "process" might be different in cic.

Did the cic call center agent actually search your status with your ID No?

When I called this week, the agent tried to hang up without checking
saying "we are working on the application on Oct 12th".
So I asked her to check with my ID number.
After that, she told me your application has been processing.

Yup, she did. She asked all my personal infos and the I'd number

Then my application might not be in progress...

Not sure what to do. Do you want to work? You can always apply for OWP according to the CIC agent. But it doesn't solve the problem. You can't get on provincial health coverage. So you are delayed another few more months if you haven't gotten AIP letter. And you have to wait until you get OWP to get OHIP? That's not right.

Tell your lawyer that you can't get on OHIP without AIP letter addressed to you.

When we used our AIP letter to apply for Sask health they would not except it. But they did accept the e-cas screen which showed that she had AIP. Maybe try that, its worth a shot.
