Hi everyone!

I have finally received my PR!

I got confirmation of DM on August 14th. Then, on August 30th I was issued the appointment letter from the Scarborough Centre, and I was schedule for my interview on Sept 16, date on which I received PR confirmation.

Just waiting for my card now.

Hello everyone, Screech,

Just wanted to let you know that my wife just received her PR card in the mail yesterday. It only took about 3.5 months. SO Pretty!!! Oh and screech I noticed a mistake on the spreadsheet in our OWP dates. We applied for OWP with application and received it in Oct. 12


I hope things are going well for everyone.

Just came off the phone with an agent at CIC, she opened up my file and said an email dated September 19 should be sent to me stating I can apply for an open work permit blah blah.... But the thing is I have not received that email, maybe my lawyer never received the email.

I told her the only email I got was addressed to my husband but she said the email she is looking at presently is not addressed to my hubby but addressed to me and that I should go ahead and apply for my OWP. I don't know whats going on ???

@ Jolly: Can u please tell me if you have or haven't received your AIP? They told me the same that I should get it in 4 days time if I haven't received it as yet.

And thanks to all who congratulate me eventho its not official as yet.... Thanks for the love!!!!

These days processing time is realistic.
It's 9 days jump for a week.

I called cic because my medical exam won't be valid after Oct 5th.
The agent told me sometimes officers extend.
I hope there won't be another medical.

Your case is exactly like mine. So I received two emails last Wednesday. one saying my husband meet the requirements and one say I need to do my medical(it expired) I called them and i was told that the letter addressed to me was sent to me together with the other two emails. I DID NOT RECIEVE IT!!!! i called back and was told that what the previous person told me was not correct and that there was no other letter. i called bk and was told that the letter was emailed to me and if i didn't get in in five days i should call bk and that they would make a request to have it resent to me. my lawyer haven't receive any thing from them either.
i called bk on Tuesday and was told that there is no such letter. she said that the only letter that is issued is the one to the sponsor , i felt like just screaming at her how stupid she was and how boody angry she was making me I KNOW THERE IS A BLOODY LETTER THATS Y I BEEN CALING ALL WEEK!!!!!!
they made a request to have the documents resent and she said that can take up to 3 THREE months!!!
I yet to receive any letter from them . so NO!!!! i haven't gotten the letter addressed to me. it been over a week and ive moved on to the second stage on the 11th of September but i have not gotten my letter.
i applied for my OWP the end of August and im bk to waiting......

hi wolanila, long time no see here! hope everything is going well on ur side, 3.5 months is quite a long time, last time staff at vancouver office told me it should come around 2-3 months.. but this wait is much easier than waiting for the DM etc..

@ Goldmoon i hear yah. I am just waiting for you to get yours cause i know we are not far behind you. Its been hard the last couple weeks knowing we are so close, but its still a waiting game. (We applied November 6th)

Super excited for the hubby to atleast get OWP, so we can buy a house and hopefully DM not far behind, and go back to visit his family!

Itll happen by the end of the month for us *fingers crossed*

Nice to meet you eager Beaver... I know exactly how you feel... and echo your sentiments... we applied Nov 6th as well. I just hope and pray police check and medical results will get an extention.

I have a question I am hoping you can answer Screech. If AIP and DM are received very close together, will CIC then not issue the requested OWP? And if that is the case, are those who filed for an OWP with their application then still not able to work until landing is completed and the PR card received in the mail? Because from the looks of things right now, time between DM and PR card is several months. And I'm hoping for those that need to work as soon as AIP is received are still able to do so.

I am dreading this will not be the case for us either... the reason we went Inland.. was to get AIP and OWP ASAP! ... the rest will come with time. ...
