hello....a quick question....how many fees have to be paid to become PR?
I paid some fees when I sent my application ($550) and yesterday in my landing interview I paid also fees ($490). Are both totaling the right amount ($1040) required to become PR? have I double paid anything?
Thanks for your help
No, that is the correct amount. You haven't overpaid.

On the good news - processing date has been uped to Oct.21....

Bad news...processing time has been uped to 11 months :'(

Cic...please hurry up...that is all

I am new here and I have a few questions and will greatly appreciate any help. Our inland spousal sponsorship was sent June 6 2012. January 2013 we received letter that it has been transferred to local office in Etobicoke. Yesterday, 18th September got another letter and we have been invited for an interview in two weeks.

This is case specific. To the best of my knowledge, applications are only transferred to Etobioke (without AIP) if CIC has concerns your relationship is genuine. You should bring as much proof as you can to substantiate that your relationship is real. Don't just bring the evidence you submitted before. Bring as much new evidence as you can as well (i.e. evidence from June 2012 until now).

I am hoping that the processing will move faster after Oct 25th.

Let hope it will go down to 6 months again.

@Goldmoon i hear yah. I am just waiting for you to get yours cause i know we are not far behind you. Its been hard the last couple weeks knowing we are so close, but its still a waiting game. (We applied November 6th)

Super excited for the hubby to atleast get OWP, so we can buy a house and hopefully DM not far behind, and go back to visit his family!

Itll happen by the end of the month for us *fingers crossed*

Friends,

Please sign it if you are affected by it and maybe we can make this move this forward.

@ Beaver ...I really hope so... I've been waiting on SunSun to get his as he is October 30th and am 31st, so anxious!!

I do have a concern though~ seeing my lawyer is our representative and all emails from CIC go to her email am wondering if the AIP letter addressed to my hubby would go to her and the AIP letter addressed to me would also go to her instead of our emails directly. And if that were the case, if she is on vacation how would we get that email sent to us? She is so terribly difficult to reach :-[ sigh**

BTW its somewhat nice to see the new movement but its still Ridiculous to see since March they are still dealing with October applications. And as if the "October freeze" isn't enough they now moved from 10 months to 11 months.... Its like we chasing a waterfall..... Stone Cold Brutal :'(

OMG OMG OMG We got an email from the lawyer...... She sent an attachment from CIC to say my hubby is eligible to sponsor me. I am just waiting now for my official AIP letter..... YAYYYYYY

Congrats love!!! So.... This is what happened to me!
We called cic a million times since. First I was told that they sent my AIP letter
Then that they only issue one to the sponsor not to me.
Then we were told to call bk after five working days!!
We have accepted the fact that i don't think I would get a letter
Of Approval that he would have to go on from here.
After the five days we called Immigration back and they sent a request to be a good resubmitted information that was sent to us.
We know that is going to take forever. The good part is that we applied for a work permit and I sent after my application and when you get your work permit you can go ahead and apply for your social and temporary health card so I think that's the road were going to go with the immigration to get your approval in principle is a waste of time

I have a question I am hoping you can answer Screech. If AIP and DM are received very close together, will CIC then not issue the requested OWP? And if that is the case, are those who filed for an OWP with their application then still not able to work until landing is completed and the PR card received in the mail? Because from the looks of things right now, time between DM and PR card is several months. And I'm hoping for those that need to work as soon as AIP is received are still able to do so.

So Jolly you still haven't received your AIP letter? Thats not good if not. Whats the purpose sending a letter to the sponsor and none to the applicant which is just as important? I am feeling so deflated. I want that letter so I cud get a work permit.... smh
