Thanks for your feedback. In my opinion there is no point in applying for OWP once you got DM. OWP is good for a period between AIP and Landing/receiving SIN to legally work. Since you have recieved DM, and you are in Toronto area, chances are you will land some time in the next 6-8 weeks. Since you haven't applied for OWP, by the time they process your OWP, you may have already landed or very close to.

What I said in old post is still true. It is all up to each person's peferences. It is a gamble to apply for OWP as you could get DM 1 week or 1 month or 8 months later. . It is all up to each person. Everyone has a different reason for applying or not.

But for CIC to tell you that you cannot apply for OWP after getting AIP is total BS. You have a right to apply for OWP after you get AIP. The AIP email will tell you that you qualify for OWP should you want to apply.

I am glad that we applied for it after our AIP. DM came really soon but we still don't have an interview day since our DM in May!!!
At least hubby is working now with the OWP.

My friend got her OWP in May 2013 and still doesnt have her PR or confirmation of it. So at least she is getting her moneys worth from the OWP.

They did ask her to send another police certificate as she is from New Zealand and the police certificates they have are from thier Ministry of Justice and not the actual police and apparently that wasnt good enough! That alsomight be part of the delay.

Does anyone know the approximate time for getting your PR once the OWP comes through and first stage approval is passed?

We are in similar situation... DM in May... got our OWP around the same time but still no PR today...

True.. I received AIP and OWP 9th of January 2013 and since then no answer no nothing from cic..

I'm so sorry that they've kept you waiting so long. It's so freaking unfair, how inconsistent and unpredictable CIC is. It sort of feels like the Middle Ages, and we're all consulting the oracle or something.

Congrats Rxpei on your AIP and DM, like Quebecokie both of u got both on the same day. I was particularly happy to see that you are a late October applicant and you applied on the 24th so it means Jolly1 you are next in line then sunsun then me ....

The CIC agent may be right after all, I just might get my AIP before October 1st.... sigh**

how did people who applied via Vegreville get AIP & DM & OWP already even though they said they are processing applications recived on October 15 2012...

Am I missing something here??

According to timesheet those landed at etobicoke. Average days is about 52 days. Ranging from 20 days to 103 days after receiving DM.

The website is just a guideline not the rule. They often use website date to stop people from calling in ahead on their application date even thought their application may be looked at. The agents will say call back when website reaches/passes your date leaving you high and dry.

I had no idea about that. My husband and I have been basing everything off of the CIC's website date.

Today I received a mail from CIC Scarborough requesting for the proof of my payment for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee and also copies of my passport, along with proof of my original and last date of entry to Canada. I was told to fax it to them, which I did it diligently.

This they say must be done "before you are scheduled to obtain your confirmation of permanent residence document." Wow! does that mean it will go smoothly and quickly on the day if they scheduled me for an interview??? Does anyone have experience with Scarborough office to share with?

I had to revise my comment. You already gotten DM. So it appears that once they got your info, they will send you a landing letter with COPR ready to issue.

just 12 hours after ecas update i got the official letter too just amazing!
i have some question now !
I received a mail from CIC Scarborough requesting for the proof of my payment for the Right of Permanent Residence Fee and also copies of my passport, along with proof of my original and last date of entry to Canada.... i am just confused about the original and last date of entry to Canada as my wife was a refugee as she entered canada !! And entred with no passport... in the letter they are asking me to fax everything within 7 days...so should i fax the orginal or send the actual original paper through the mail ???
also what is the avrege wait time to get the landing date from CIC Scarborough?

Long time no show, trust you guys are all well!
Decision Made received finally!
Date of DM is 29 August 2013,
We are now waiting for landing interview from Edmonton Office, according to the statistic from spreadsheet it takes app. 43 days after DM.
However, when i check the online status, it is weird that my mailing address has changed to my another registered address.
All doc are supposed to be sent to our consultant and both of us didn't change any information on the online status.
I am wondering if the CIC can change the contact info on behalf of us without notifying us?
