Wish it was that easy to do too for canada citizenship. It was only one form to fill. But lots of documents to send in with it. Can't do anything until the child has 3 IDs. US birth certificate, social security number and US Passport. They were born in US. Even then, it can take up to 12 months to get it. Lucky for me, it took 4 months to get canadian certificate. I applied for one when I went to US 5 years ago. It took me 1 year to get certificate even though I didn't need it. I was already born in Canada. Just wanted another offical canadian proof beside birth certificate and passport.DaleandMonica said:You are right That way work too. He just have to apply. ANd those applications is way way more easy then the applications we gone through here. Its more like just one document you have to fill in and send in....and its handled fast.
Wow....that's crazy. I really can't understand why they make it so difficult when it doesn't have to be. Its so over the top. And the time they take to make a decision.....it's so crazy. I have been thinking about this so much lately. On the struggle to make it work, while the one sponsored can't even work.....I feel so sorry for everyone that has to struggle so hard, while they are waiting. I know Dale and I are lucky, that we both have an income during the wait, since I am retired and get my income from Sweden the rest of my life. But all others....that has no income.....oh it must be so so hard And then to see how unbelievable long time they take for every decision, is almost cruel. Its like they are letting people live under prolonged struggle. So so wrong. Its hard enough just to wait....and then to have economical struggles in the middle of all....must be so stressful.screech339 said:Wish it was that easy to do too for canada citizenship. I already file my taxes in both Sweden and Canada.....done that two years now. But in Sweden its so easy. There I just have to log into my tax account....where the income I've gotten past 12 moths is already stated.....all I have to do is sign online....and its done. Thank God. Here we have an accountant helping us file. And Sweden doesn't have Euros. We voted years ago....and the Swedish people wanted to keep the Swedish Kronan. And they are still using that. So Sweden sends me my pension every month and they send it into my Canadian bank account. So easy not having to do anything to transfer it every month my self. So far I pay taxes in Sweden still....and non in Canada. But as soon as the pr is done, I will start paying my taxes here in Canada and have non in Sweden. It will be the same in the end....the taxes in Sweden are similar to the taxes in Canada....so I won't know any difference....not much anyway...I think.... at least they say soscreech339 said:@ daleandmonica,
I suppose you would have to file both sweden and canada income tax when time comes on account that you are receiving income from Sweden. Since your retirement is in euros, that mean you will get even more Canadian income after conversion.

Thank so very much I guess I have some more studying to do So there is an MP you can turn to for help....can anyone turn to an MP? I have always only turned to the agents....I didn't know there were anyone else to turn too.....if you didn't turn to a lawyer or a consultant.goldmoon said:MP is the Member of Parliament and DM is Decision Made
Yes anyone can go to their Member of Parliament (MP) and s/he will ask you both to sign a consent form so CIC can release information. Lawyers and consultants are a waste of money. They'll promise you water from the moon, except the ridiculous waiting timeDaleandMonica said:Thank so very much I guess I have some more studying to do So there is an MP you can turn to for help....can anyone turn to an MP? Oh.....I didn't know that at all. Thank you so very much for sharing. I remember when Dale and I did our applications.....we didn't know about this forum and we struggled to understand it all. It was many calls to the call center being made. We didn't find this forum until 6 months after the app was received by them. I know we read and we were both so impressed by all the knowledge in here......it was like meeting a whole new language. We are slowly catching up.....a little new knowledge here and therejiggyzealous said:Yes anyone can go to their Member of Parliament (MP) and s/he will ask you both to sign a consent form so CIC can release information.
