Medical is supposed to be part of stage 2, not part of stage 1 approval. It sounds like they are making excuses now. Other people on this site have had to redo their medical when processing for stage 2 began because the medical expired. They say still 6 months processing and when I questioned if they are working on them at all as i had heard rumors that staff had been moved to work/ visitor/ student apps they informed me the delay is my home country visa office as they need to wait longer for medical information. My mother-in-law had her final interview for her PR a few weeks ago in London whivh was nearly 3 months earlier than processing times on the net. So not much delay going on there!

Make sure they receive it just before it expires. Do it via the slowest method (e.g., paper application). As long as they receive it before the current one expires you are covered by implied status. If you have landed before the time they get to your application, they will refuse to process your application (because PRs are not eligible for work permits) and refund the fee.ichbinella said:
