@Mrembo
Another two months for you; maybe another month for me then. But why should we believe them? They've been telling us the same thing for months successfully

Hello!
I want to know how to write an email to the immigration officer incharged of my application requesting info about my case?
Thanks!!

I've just spoken to CIC to change my sponsors email. Surprise!Which they can't do.
They say still 6 months processing and when I questioned if they are working on them at all as i had heard rumors that staff had been moved to work/ visitor/ student apps they informed me the delay is my home country visa office as they need to wait longer for medical information. My mother-in-law had her final interview for her PR a few weeks ago in London whivh was nearly 3 months earlier than processing times on the net. So not much delay going on there!
I thought medical was in stage 2?! Or am I wrong? >:(

Medical is supposed to be part of stage 2, not part of stage 1 approval. It sounds like they are making excuses now. Other people on this site have had to redo their medical when processing for stage 2 began because the medical expired. So unless they haven't told you that your stage 1 has been processed, I think they are just stalling for time.

It makes total sense to just send in your Medical and Police check when you first send out your application or else there's just going to be delays in the application.

i received my aip on april 11,2013.i just called cic to check on d status nd d agent said that my file i now complete and everything requested has been received. so if my file is complete,why dont i ve dm? these ppl sure kno how to keep us in d hot seat.kmdt

i called CIC this morning to confirm whether i hv to wait 6 months for local office to contact me after receiving email of DM.

the lady was quite kind, she said it depends on how my file was set up. (i dunno what she meant by that though), she said i hv to wait for 5-6 months!

I asked why, she said it's becos of the current internal operation practice~ but again, she didnt offer any concrete explanation~

Btw, roughly how long should I plan to renew my OWP which gonna expires in Dec 2013?? I really dun want to renew it cos most likely i would complete my landing in early 2014... what a waste of $$$$$

Make sure they receive it just before it expires. Do it via the slowest method (e.g., paper application). As long as they receive it before the current one expires you are covered by implied status. If you have landed before the time they get to your application, they will refuse to process your application (because PRs are not eligible for work permits) and refund the fee.

Guys i have a question if some can reply it will be helpfull

How long does it take to receive your open permit and your aip letter after its been approved???like the days it take to reach u??
if your online status say 1st this month when can u expect to get it???

@COMPUTERGEEK...
I ADMIRE YOUR EXPERT ANSWERS. I am seeking some directions. I have been following the posts to get informed nd prepared but today I know I am NOT. I feel overwhelmed:
July 2008 H and C application
Start Process Aug 2008
File Transferred to Miss 2008 and then Mar 2012
AIP Sept 2012
owp applied and received April 2013

I have been here over 20 years. I picked up my medical request today at dundas. Do I need to do police clearance from home country

With an OWP, do i still need to do the renewal for my status??!?

Congratulations on your H&C application moving forward - that's probably the slowest form of application. Of course, the Inland 2012 thread probably isn't the right thread (or are you being sponsored? If so, I can imagine the Inland 2008 thread probably isn't very active).

CIC seems to either require PCCs from every country since you turned 18 OR the past 10 years - I've read both on the website. I checked the current H&C checklist and it doesn't say, so all you can do is inquire with the visa office - or wait for them to ask, because they WILL ask if they need one.

Praise the Lord!

I just checked ecas and it says decision made!
We got aip Dec.5/2012 and were asked to submit fingerprints.

I havent received any email yet as to what the decision is though. We went through a consultant so we will see if he receives any snail mail for us this week.
