Hello, i sent my application lst dec 24, 2012 and didnt include the medical...i got my aor on feb 1,13. My question now is do i have to wait for the medical request or should i send it earlier if it will help speed up my application? Your reply is greatly appreciated.

You can send in ur medical before they request it. You should do so because it'll cut out a lot of time

Congratulations everyone that's brilliant.. So good to see progress and what a relief it must be.

One question.. In some of your statuses you have 'app filed' wat does that mean?
I presume 'a or' would be the date CIC received my application?
Also what does DM stand for?

It is a huge relief!

For me, "App filed" means the day the CIC got it according to my Canada Post delivery receipt.
"AOR" means acknowledgement of receipt which is day the CIC acknowledge that they have received the app and is usually when they start working on it.
"DM" means decision made and means that they have finished working on the app.

In early April 2013, my spouse received a letter from CIC stating that a decision was made, and that they'll be contacting us. That was early April 2013. Is it normal to wait this long after they've made a decision to contact us again?

At what point should I call them back and ask them for a status of the decision made?

Do you live near there? Because ordinarily it would be a local CIC office that does the actual landing. In the Toronto area, it might be Scarborough or Etobicoke, for example.

Hi I would think the local CIC will contact you for example for Alberta it is Edmonton and Calgary offices. I thought Vegreville is a case processing center and not a landing office. Which Province are you located in? wherever it is then the office that will contact you is the one closest to you (In most cases).

Has anyone experienced an issue in Calgary due to the State of Emergency /evacuations delaying their landing appointment?
Or received any contact advising of a change in the appointment considering the flooding encompasses the building that the appointments are at?

They really have bigger issues at hand (saving anything: equipment/files ect.) They may have moved the interview to a different location. Your MP might be able to get through to them faster?
