I have a question!! Please HELP!

I wanna apply for Temporary Re-entry Visa (TRV) inside Canada. I've just found out that we actually can apply online....However, for re-entry visa, I recalled I had to submit my passport together with the application so they can stamp the visa on the page. Thus, I am wondering how it will work with the online system when they only request you to scan or photocopy your passport pages? I would appreciate any help, please share your experience :)

Thank you,

When we applyed for our visitor visa extension, we submitted our photocopies of passport and visitor's record. When approved, they sent us a new visitor record with new departure date. They won't need to restamp your passport.

And what is the point of question #1? Isn't that addressed during the PR process? Or does it mean even if your PR is granted they can still refuse you at the border? I can see no other reason for them having to ask that...

I believe the purpose of question #1 during landing interview, despite it is already listed in the PR application is twofold. 1. If you remember IMM5669, background/declaration, the one containing question about "have you ever been convicted..etc etc" you will notice at bottom, not to complete the following section. You may be asked to sign in presence of representative... Etc etc" this may be part of the declaration when asked question 1. You are swearing in front of the person when you answered yes or no.

Another purpose is that since paperwork can take up to 14 months or more, who is to say that you didn't commmit a crime or been convicted since you came to Canada while paperwork is in order. This is the second part. If they find out that you did in fact commit a crime while paperwork is in order, you commit fraud when you lied and thus they have grounds to revoke your PR status.

I got my interview date - May 30th in Edmonton! DM was on Apr.18th. Oh well, one more month of waiting.
Guys, with the question about declaring your family, I can`t remember if declared my parents and my sister. I think there was separate form for the family. Anyway, is there an opportunity to make sure that they are listed as my family, if not change it.

Congrats on getting a landing date. :)

We saved the pdf files of application on our computer so that we can go back and see what we wrote in case my wife needed to refresh her memory.

If you kept extra copies or saved the filled-out pdf files, you should be able to review them to see if you declared everyone.

Not sure if you have opportunity to change the form at that stage. Which is why you need to double, triple check your applications to be sure. If you omitted anyone, it basically mean you will not be able to sponsor that person in the future at all.

Thank you SCreech for the reply.
I have listed my family in Addition Family Information. IMM 5406. I believe that is it. There is no question abouth them in Generic Application.

That would be the application to list all family members IMM5406. If you listed everyone, then you are good to go. If you forgot someone, it is too late then. They will just remind you that you would not be able to sponsor them in the future.

@thatgirl123

It's 6 months after you've applied. It couldn't ever be after AOR because some applicants do not get AOR. But call centre agent's information is not credible. If u call three times of the day u get three different responses, even if u get the same agent

Jiggy is probably right. The agents that answer the phones, handling clients calls are probably on the lowest ladder rungs of employees, just answering what they see on their computer system and nothing else. If anything else, they will just make a note on the system if something is up, longer than expected time and someone in more senior role will look into it.

Hi guys.

My wife landed on Apr 23, 2013 in Edmonton. Interview was simple and took about 20min. Those basic 3 questions and confirmed a name and address.
And yes. They took only 1 picture.

My wife applied on Sept 4, 2012, so the whole process took about 8 months.

CIC agent said to everybody in the room that we had to bring the physical PR card to apply for the SIN#. I went to the Service Canada right after interview and asked them if she can apply for it with the PR confirmation document only, and the lady said no problem, so my wife got SIN#, Starts with 6, that day.

So it will take about 6-8 weeks to get the PR card mailed in.

Well, thanks for the great forum and good luck to you all.
Congrtas and welcome to Canada. Your post really helps those of us who are waiting for our landing interviews.

The spreadsheet is now up to date.

@Rusty,
seems like they're moving on. I cant wait to come on here and behave crudely when I'm approved
