@ Rusty I was asking your input. If my file was going to be transferred to the local office, do you think it would have been transferred already? Today makes 4 months
Really I am not the one to ask. I am the spreadsheet guru but not an expert on CIC by any means. As a matter of fact I have never been able to log onto Ecas and have only called CIC one time. I use the spreadsheet as my guide as to what is happening. That is why I get so concerned when we have problems with it. Try asking Computergeek he is very knowledgable.

Your file can be transferred at any point in time. However, the most likely time - if there are concerns about the sponsor or the relationship - is around the AIP time frame - 6 months currently. But they certainly wouldn't do it before the file has been reviewed (e.g., at four months) unless there was something VERY obvious.

Hi computergeek,

You mean once they issued an AIP for both sponsor and applicant it means they will not going to transfer the file no more and they already been convinced that the relationship is genuine?

File transfers are usually done before AIP when they need clarifications/interviews. 2nd stage is background medical and security check.

Fevelyn, you have been added. Did you send in Police Clearance and Medical with your application. We are glad you joined us. I still have my fingers crossed on the OWP. I sent mine in on Jan 15th. Should know next week.

There are no guarantees, but in general issues about genuineness of the relationship are not raised after AIP. But they can be if something raises concerns in the mind of the visa officer. They have the right to evaluate everything at any point in the process - right up to the final landing interview.

Hi Rusty53

Can you please add my timelines to your spreadsheet so that I can also be part of the "great waiting game"

Applied to CPC-V on 20th Dec 2012
AOR Received on 31st Jan 2013
ECAS states they started processing my application on 30-Jan-2013

oh i see.. so basically, we can't really tell.. so we're not safe yet?

The chance of it happening drops after AIP. But there's no guarantees until the day the applicant is granted permanent residency.

I don't see any point of worrying. You already got AIP so its just medical security and background check. So just sit back relax and wait for 2nd stage to be over. :)

I received my AIP email but eCAS still says application received... so as many on here would tell you, it is up to the agent who opens your file that day to update eCAS or not... it seems that the process is getting quicker but the number of "in process" posts i've seen recently makes me think that eCAS is getting less and less up to date...
Just my thought...:)

Thanks! this does give me some peace of mind... although i'm still a bit hesitant to assume a OWP with AIP only takes about a month and a half... :S

Now a question for others who might have the same problem... Do I put my current employer as my planned employer even if im applying for an OPEN work permit...? I don't want my work permit to be limited to my current employer again...

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!
