how long are medicals good for?

One year initially. At the option of the visa office they can be extended for one additional year.

Medical exams are good for one year but sometimes CIC extends it should it expires before you are approved

that's awesome. how come some people have to redo medicals? or medicals are requested?

With medicals, the CIC will only request an extension of the medical if they are satisfied with the rest of the application, and the only thing holding them back is the medical!

Well you can call the call centre but the only real tracking is when it shows up in the mail. There's no other mechanism available.

@canham2012 the only way I think you can do so is by calling the CIC call centre. However if ur still waiting for first stage approval and you've already applied for the OWP it will automatically come when you're approved

I have already got AIP. And I had applied OWP in January. I am currently interviewing for Jobs, so wondering if I can get OWP soon.

I noticed that CIC is working on OWP for the end of December. If my online request is any good it will come up in about 2 weeks. I believe downwinder was told an online application was ok. I think I will take my chances and wait for another couple of weeks and see if I get approved. I will let you know how it works out.

Yeh saw the processing times. I hope we all get it soon . I have a paper application.
