Depends on where you are, I'm in central BC. I know there was postings for laborers at West Fraiser over in Alberta a week or two ago. You can get the details on their website.

Yes that is the document you must keep for life. This is the document that prove you are a PR. Plus it is also needed when you apply for Canadian citizenship as well.

We got our landing date letter in the mail today!! I'll officially be landing in Canada on Jan. 13th, 2014. Too bad I have to wait until the next year, but at least I have a date and I'm guessing with the holiday season time will just fly by anyway :))

Can I get a SIN the day of my landing interview? I don't have a temporary SIN card (at least not a valid one! should I bring my expired SIN?) at the moment.

It depends on where you are landing. Not all landing office have an on-site SIN processing booth.

Etobicoke. The letter made it sound like it's possible. It said something "about for my convenience, Service Canada personnel will be at the interview to help you change your SIN". Yay :)

Etobicoke has an on-site SIN processing booth so you will get your SIN. It can't hurt to bring your expired SIN so that they can link your old expired SIN to your permanent SIN.

Hi CANUSA,
You will receive your COPR on the 23rd, after you and your sponsor are asked some questions. The officer will hand it over you.
