Congratulations to everyone here, this has been such a happy thread as of late!

Yesterday we received an e-mail saying "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence will be processed separately and the applicant will hear from this office shortly."

That was the only e-mail we've received so far - don't they usually send another e-mail shortly after regarding the PR app & work permit? Is it possible they would just sent that by snail mail even though they have our e-mail? I'm nervous again! :-X

If you sent in OWP with your application, they will notify you by email on getting your OWP approved. It is not a rule that OWP must be approved same time as AIP. OWP will be processed after AIP. It is just a matter of good timing when people get OWP and AIP same time. Generally OWP is approved same time but not 100% of the time. You may want to wait a day or 2 before calling CIC about your OWP.

So i called CIC and it turned out they sent my PR card to a completely wrong address. I used to live in Ottawa so they sent it there and now it got lost. I updated the new address with the agent and she said to call back on december 2 and they will know what to tell me to do. Sigh. more waiting to do..even when i thought it was the end. . Did this ever happen to any of you and do you know what will happen next? I feel so helpless now..

I have tried all the numbers we have to double check the address for the PR card to be sent. But I cannot get thro the "Address Notification" website.

Is there a number I can call to find out/update our address?

So i called CIC and it turned out they sent my PR card to a completely wrong address. I used to live in Ottawa so they sent it there and now it got lost. I updated the new address with the agent and she said to call back on december 2 and they will know what to tell me to do. Sigh. more waiting to do..even when i thought it was the end. . Did this ever happen to any of you and do you know what will happen next? I feel so helpless now..

This is one of the reasons why I don't want to move in the middle of PR process. I would get paranoid about CIC sending mails to old address and you are not the first time and won't be the last. There was a case of an applicant getting a negative DM because of lack of response from applicant to document requests despite updating the online address change. They had been sending document request to the old address the whole time. CIC assumed the applicant wasn't interested in the sponsorship when document request deadline passed.

I agree whole-heartedly! We moved in August and changed our address online and it was updated in ecas, but they still sent the AIP to our old address >:/. We had to call and change the address with the agent on the line and are now hoping to get future mail to our new address.

Same here my OWP was sent to my old address and my AIP + DM was addressed to my old address despite of changing everything on ECAS I applied Jan 2013 and moved feb 2013 to my new address and I updated my address immediately. I called CIC to see ask why my AIP + DM was addressed to my old address lady apologized and said something went wrong with their system that the address change didn't fully happen and she corrected everything now. So I hope my landing letter comes to my new address not old one and I really hope she finally did update the address properly.

Hi Screech, thank you for the quick response, it is much appreciated! So, if it isn't approved at the same time- is it possible it could take weeks longer or is more like days? They don't make this waiting thing easy do they, lol.

History shown to be within a day or 2. Which is why I suggest calling them 2 days after AIP. Give CIC a chance to process your OWP and send it by email.

They were still trying to send my DM to our BC address, not even the postal address in the original application, cause well all know how hard it is to read "postal" and "residence". Even AFTER speaking to the call centre, address still not right.... And people think us farmers are dumb! No one let CIC near the Chemical Storage Shed, there will be food recalls every where if they do!

Now to start an office pool, which address will CIC try to send my card to?

I've got $20 on residential from BC.

Sometimes the address doesn't get sent to the halifax office. Rusty was waiting for too long only to find out that CIC halifax was waiting on their mailing address before they can process the PR card.

Well, our landing officer told us to double check online AND call to make sure that the address is entered into the system correctly. That's why I am worry now because I cannot confirm it online.

Even though it was checked at landing (yeah, let me correct that for you...) I am not holding my breath it's going to be the right address.

Hey guys, I am really getting worried now, pls does anybody know how long it might take to get any response back after it show on canada post tht cic got the requested document. Will my application go back in queue, even though my medical show on ecas. Any info will be helpful! Thanks guys.

@nairaboy usually it doesn't go back to the que , when the officer sends you a letter they will tell you to submit this documents before so and so date , the officer doesn't check the file until that expiry date for the requested documents, an agent told me this on phone, and also depending on the work load some officers will update quickly if not they will wait till the expiry date of the letter they sent you.
