I think the 6 weeks rule seems arbitary to me. I would call them again on a weekly basis until you get your OWP in the mail. Everyone else seems to be getting their OWP in a reasonable time.

Until today I haven't got my OWP errrrrrrrrrrr
I called the post office but they couldn't help me coz I don't have tracking number.
I'll try to call CIC again tomorrow (or try to call them everyday from now hahaha).

Finally got my landing appointment letter, it was dated Nov 1st. It arrived November 9th. But we were getting married in Mexico so it was a great suprise to come home too

My landing date is November 26th in Vancouver at 1pm!!! Can't wait!!!!

Landed!!

Ok, so anyone landing Edmonton here how things panned out. We arrive 0910, letter said 0930-1130 or 1300-1430. I landed just after 1300.

Pay for all day ($20), bring a book, pillow, iPhone charger, snacks etc. you have no idea how much I wish I brought a pillow (was up at 4 to feed animals etc and drive in) serious need if a nap hit around 1100.

Maybe 10 people before me. We were in for maybe 10-15 minutes, one person was in there for almost an hour (yeah, what the??) even the guard looked in as it had been so long.

Was a rather anti climatic for us. It's done and I'm hoping to be able to sleep now.

I went and redid my medical today,done and dusted..dose anyone know how long it takes for the medical to come up on your online status?

Also just a heads up,I printed my medical form which cic sent me via email off my iPad and brought that with me.when I got there the lady told me that the form should of being printed out with a barcode so they can acess the emedical system for you,she said that people with macs having being having the problem.luckly she was able to find me in the system and could proceed with the medical.

They normally would only ask you who takes care of the house, how do we pay for our expenses, who works in the house? if we live on our own or rent. how much rent. what did we do last weekend or 2 nights before... does your spouse take care of you? who does the house chores. where and what did we eat last night. who makes dinner/breakfast. etc etc.

The immigration officer asked me all these questions after she told me about the serious issue that was on my file that caused us to wait so long. and then she asked me if both my children are from my husband.

I guess my interview wasn't as bad as I had thought. I am pregnant with my 2nd baby and I took my 18month old with us to the interview the immigration officer didn't say anything why we brought him along. infact she was happy with my son because he is an angel and didn't bother either one of us while being questioned.

However. these are some minor questions they ask only if they do call you for the first stage interview only to clear doubts about the relationship but if you're not asked to show up for an interview than you'll just receive AIP either by email or mail.

Wow, really? Some of those questions seem so silly lol but I can see why they'd ask them if they had any doubts...they probably want to catch you off guard.
I wanted to know because if I have to get interviewed, I'd like to be as prepared as possible... even though I have nothing to hide and didn't withhold any info, the fact that my hubby's PR status relies on my answers would make me nervous, to say the least...

As for dress code, we rocked up in what we feed out in. Jeans, t-shirt, down jacket and bogs.

I redid it recently.
It will take around a week or 2.
Now it gets faster after using e-medical.
It's much better than last year - it took one year with human hands.

Is it possible to get a learner licence (class 7) in Calgary with the AIP letter via email & Alberta Health Care Card? Coz I'm still waiting for my OWP via snail mail.

I done mine on 7Nov & 15Nov.
Hope fully we will get the DM shortly.

I hear you deedeedar,the sooner DM comes the better.i applied for my owp online last week so hopefully that will come soon too,so tired of nothing being able to work ???

Wow!!! I did emedical as well, did mine 5th of October and
It's yet to show up on my Ecas even if when I call CIC says they've received it!!
Hmmm now I'm worried!

So, I finally got an email for my AIP. I called CIC a couple times and harrassed them. They weren't going to send me anything, kept telling me not to worry everything was fine, to which I kept responding, you are right, except that it's not fine. Your office should have sent me a letter stating that my husband was approved and that I am now eligible to apply for permanent residency, and the ONLY reason this is not ok that you have not done it, is because without this simple letter I can not even apply for my OHIP now. Could we please rectify this. I got an email yesterday morning with my AIP attached

So, yesterday, I printed my email, went to the border in Windsor and got myself an OWP directly with CBSA at the border. It still costs $150, BUT I got my OWP on the spot no waiting for weeks/months. I then went to service canada, got my temporary SIN, and then to the 2nd floor where I got OHIP applied for. Wasn't too bad at all. For those of you who still need to do OHIP:

1. Bring in your AIP letter. You WILL have to see a full service center not your small local one they can't help you.

2. Bring in a letter/statement anything that was mailed to you with your CURRENT address on it. I doesn't matter what it is, so long as your name/address is on it.

3. Bring some kind of other identification. If you don't have an Ontario license (as I do not) I used my Canadian credit card with my signature on the back. Yes, make sure your signature is on the back and they will accept it. I also brought my passport just in case, even though they can't/won't use it for identification, she used it to verify my birthday.

I was in and out quite quickly even though I had to take a number a wait. Have all the forms filled out and all the identifications ready and you are in and out before you know it!

Today, I have plastered and wallpapered my lil bitty new hometown with my resume! This girl is gonna get a job before xmas if it kills her! LOL
