I would not worry about the year validity of medical report. They can request an extension of your medical report validity, either by additional 6 to 12 months. You're worrying over nothing. Only worry about it when they actually ask for your new medical. Until then, relax and enjoy.

Screech339
Yeah you're right.
I hope I will get AIP and DM
so that cic has clear reason to extend my medical.

I accidentally cut my finger with a knife.
It was pretty deep.
So my wife called emergency to get my finger stitches.
The hospital administrative person told her
it would be $500 minimum for 1-2 stitches.
We decided not to do. I'd rather stitch myself..
Good thing is my wife has a health card.
If we have a baby without her card,
we couldn't be just happy.

I thought cic must speed up processing.
There are a lot of people like me
and a lot of unidentified people who attempt to commit a crime.
No finger prints in RCMP database for one year??
The slow processing time is not good for Canadian society itself either.

I have a feeling since your lawyer is located in mississauga, you will end up in scarborough or Etobicoke. This is based on another applicant that landed based on where their lawyer was located.

@screech that's what I feared!!!

You do get a refund of any charges by your provincial health care provider once you get your AIP/OWP you know. You would have paid the $500 then got a refund if you keep the reciept.

Hi everyone,

im new here. i just want to know some things...

we are about to submit my sponsorship inland. Im holding a multiple entry visa to expire on may 2014. i arrived here last june 12 , 2013, then left foe the US after a few weeks then came back here on 1st July 2013. questions are:

1. Is it safe to say that my TRV will expire 6 months after July 1? or June 12? (BTW i was here also last Dec 2012 til 1st week of Jan for a holiday, does that include in the counting?)

2. should i apply for an extension of TRV separate from the sponsorship application?

3. when we submit the application for sponsorship. do we need to submit the medical together with it or wait for them to ask for it?

4. I am a Filipino national being sponsored by a Canadian Citizen (filipino also) and Im a Singapore PR working there before i came here. I know Im supposed to get a police clearance from SG also but they will only issue with a letter of appeal as per SG's policy. It was mentioned in the CIC website that they will give us a letter of appeal after they receive our application. Im worried that they will look for it and considered our application incomplete. Should we include the POLICE CLEARANCE APPLICATION for Singapore in our application just so they know we need to have their letter of appeal to get the clearance or just leave it to them to send me the appeal, will they be able to automatically know that i need one?

Here's what the cic website says:
For Non-Singapore Citizens

A COC (Certificate of Clearance) request letter along with a COC Appeal Application Form will be sent to you by the Immigration Office after reviewing the application. You are required to complete the COC Appeal Application Form, plus a COC Application Form that you may obtain from the SPF website (please see address above). Once you have completed the forms, provide the required supporting documents listed above, and submit in-person or by mail to the COC Office. Please note that the Certificate of Clearance (COC) will be mailed directly to the Canadian immigration office requesting the certificate.

Please help... thanks in advance!

@ i.imran, where are you landing? Ottawa or
Mississauga ? My mailing address is in Scarborough (lawyers office)
But residential address is Ottawa!
I wouldn't want to land in Scarborough.
I was told by cic agents that we land in the city of our residence and the email we received from cic regarding completion of our appl also says that CPC ottawa will contact us. We do want to land in ottawa but i just hope these two different addresses dont delay the landing.

@screech, so I called immigration today just
to see if my work permit was attached to my file.
I know they're on July 27 I believe. Mine was received
on August 30. I was thinking that they
haven't reached mine yet. The agent tells me that
Applications for OWP for persons being sponsored doesn't follow the general time line
as regular OWP applications. When it's received it's processed . If you hv a file in process that hvnt receive
AIP yet it's attached to your file. If you've gotten AIP
when ever your application is received its process.
CIC signed for my application but we hvnt heard anything
since. The officer is also saying that she see no record of an application
for an OWP for me. She's saying by now she should hv been able to see it.
Oh CIC!!

Wait a sec...Any medical charges incurred while waiting for AIP are refunded when you get AIP? I haven't heard this before. Is this somewhere on the CIC website?

Just you wait! How many can we fit on one combine to get to and from the said bar? No cab or buses here!

It's kinda like Corner Gas, minus the gas station, dinner, pretty much everything but the pub and post office, we have those two :D
