So I just called CIC today, and I was informed that the COPR that Vegreville issued to Vancouver office expired last July 23, 2013. and now I have to wait again until Vegreville issues another one. I am very sad. Does anybody here knows what is the timeline of issuing a COPR once your application has been approved because, I don't know what to do.

Also my OWP has been approved so it means I can't get refunded.

Oh my.
That really sucks, bad news for me too I guess, I'm screwed got to call tomorrow and ask about it, but likely I'm in your same situation since I got DM April 16th  and nothin yet aghhh sooooo annoying

I see the website hasn't been updated yet ... maybe it won't be updated ... gah, I think I'm just going to stop looking for something to happen.

It is just so dang hard to 'let it all go' and 'relax' when my life is tied down by the whim of another. Hmm, should I do this file or go home early and surprise the wife/husband/kids. While I understand what they are doing, do they not understand what the rest of us WANT to be doing?

I actually could really care less about the final PR. I really only want AIP so I can have a work permit. I can only clean this house/yard/property SO much before I begin to get a bit 'postal'!

Are you on on a IEC Visa or any other visa which has a work Permit?

If you have already applied for PR and your working at the moment on any kind of temporary visa you are on Implied Status, so you can stay in Canada and continue working.

I am in Canada, yes and not worried at all about being 'removed' from Canada at all. However, I don't have any type of work permit and I have no job either, because I am following the 'rules' which state I can not work nor study in Canada.

I am from the US. The border is roughly 12 miles from where I live in Canada. Hubby and I have discussed several times perhaps I should get a job over in MI where I am eligible to work. Then we both worry that I will get that one border guard who is having a rough day and turns me out when I try to come home after a work shift. That would blow our paperwork and money all to hell and neither of us are really willing to risk that.

So, anyway, here I sit, just twiddling my thumbs waiting on someone else to make a determination about how my life will be for the next year or so. *sighs*

On the plus side, which I am extremely thankful for, I can wake up next to the man I love every day and spend time with him. If only it were so for EVERYONE that is waiting for the immigration wheel to continue to spin.

While it is tempting to cross the border into US only 12 miles away, by working in US would violate your inland process and void the whole process and force you to apply outland.

If my wife were to be from US and live very close to US border, we would definitely take the outland process. She would have freedom to cross into canada as often as she likes without jeopardizing the process and if so she choose to, she can work in US while waiting. She would have to re-enter US and back into Canada every 6 months. Though she wouldn't be allowed to work in Canada it would not make a difference to her as she wouldn't be working while looking after the 2 kids at home.

In my case, my wife is from a non-visa exempted country and far away that by applying outland would not be feasible for us with 2 kids at home.

I respectfully disagree with this characterization. Working in the US would not violate the inland process. The statutory requirement of the inland process is that you must be living with your spouse in Canada. Nothing about working in the US would obviate where you live.

The real risk is being refused re-entry into Canada, at which point you would no longer be living with your spouse in Canada and thus would not meet the statutory requirement.

Quick question here.

I've submitted my Inland application Nov 2012 and received AOR December 3rd 2012. No news after that.
Do you think it is risky to re-entry to Canada if I want to go to Vegas for 4 days considering my current work permit (PGWP) expires Nov 2013??

I agree with you on the techincal wording of the rules that by working in the US would not violate the inland process. By working in the US implies 2 things. 1) you are not in Canada and 2) you are not living with your sponsor. Both of which violate the rules of inland process.
