At least you got an answer/reason for your transfer. This may be a case of CIC trying to catch up / remove backlog of applications.

Honestly, your guess is as good as mine as to when to expect DM. But on the bright side is that at least your file is moving along.

There is a list of designation approved doctors on the website based on where the applicant lives.

Just a point of clarification: the organization of the list by geographical location is based upon the assumption that people want to use a PP close to their location. Note that you may have the immigration examination done by any designated panel physician anywhere in the world. They are not geographically limited to whom they may serve as the process for examination and evaluation is uniform around the world.

Hey computer geek. Can u reply to my post. We sent in our application in January 2012. In November 2012 I got AIP. After 8 months in June I called the call centre about the status of my application and he said by now the file should be closed with a decision. He emailed vegreville and on July 2nd I got a letter that my file was transferred to Vancouver.for further assessment. Is that normal. I live in Toronto.. why not transfer to Toronto

thanks for adding me, here are the detailed infos of my application,
november 29,2012, application received, AOR- january 28,2013.
my application is sent at vegreville, and im currently residing in mississauga, and my country of origin is philippines.
ive got all my medical police clearance sent together with my application papers.

actually i still have my work permit for now, but it is going to expire, can i apply for an OWP before it expires or i will just wait for cic's decision? who are allowed to apply for OWP? i would appreciate it most if you can help me clarify this issues.

Thanks everyone for your birthday wishes. May I also ease to say that it seems as though CIC is currently issuing decisions on overdue and applications. My girl here at my party is celebrating as she just received an email of DM and a landing date of August 14 at the same time. She's in Mississauga too

just to catch up a bit.. i got my DM (email) on 26 Jun 2013, and today, i got a snail mail by VANCOUVER office asking me for an interview in mid August....

(two weeks ago when i called, they said it takes 5-6 months..)

is there anything bad happened to my case??

and is it normal to see no requirement in the letter that the sponsor had to attend the interview?!??!?!?! i am so scared now as things come out of expectation (i expect to wait till Dec 2013 to get this letter)

Sound like you got a landing appointment letter. Congrats on getting it. What day is the landing date? You said mid August. What day in august? And yes your sponsor must attend with you at landing, otherwise if you show up without sponsor they will simply reschedule your landing.

I would not worry since letter came early than expected. I have had people getting DM later than my wife's and getting a landing before way before us at etobicoke office. So count your blessings that you got a landing date much sooner than expected.

it's 15 August, 2013 (Thursday). I asked around and ppl said in their letters, it's stated that the Sponsor had to attend.. but i look through mine again and again , yet cant find anything like that.. so this makes me feeling insecure....

Most CiC offices require you to bring 2 PR pics, your passport and all related immigration papers, OWP, visitor record, temp SIN. As for sponsor, he/she only need drivers licence to confirm address, mostly to make sure the PR card will arrive at correct address.

My wife's landing letter didn't tell her that I must attend at landing. Only to tell her the time and day of landing and to bring original passport, 2 PR pics. So don't worry.

in the letter i received today, it says:
1) proof of payment for $490 (i paid by credit card online but they said it seems i didnt pay yet.. anyway, i know i can show them my receipt)
2) valid passport
3) Two photos, (45mm*35mm) (it says not the same as passport photos) <- anyone knows if I can smile in the photo??!??!?! i really hate my passport ones, but in case this is a hidden requirement, i must follow
4) Current immigration document (incl. Work permit etc)
5) No kids or babies unless they r included in the application

and it also says, according to our record, your height is 165CM and Eye Colour:Black, if incorrect, fax the info to them

but as i mentioned, they didnt say sponsor part, so i will ask my sponsor(my husband) to bring along his Driving license and Canadian Passport just in case

1) Just show the online receipt of payment of 490.
3) These are Permanent resident photos. Not passport photos and rules are the same. No smilng, neutral look.
4) Yes bring owp, visitor records. They are CIC property. So they can take it back or let you keep it.
5) Quite unusual for them to tell you not to bring kids or babies. We brought in our 2 babies and they were not part of application process and they had no issues with them being with us.

First time I heard of letter asking for confirmation of height and colour eyes. Strange.

Your husband need to show up and his drivers licence is all his need. They just want to confirm his identity and address. Nothing more. He can bring his passport but it doesn't show his address. So his passport is useless in a sense. Drivers licence shows photo and address on same card.
