My son non-accompanying me and he did his medicals Nov, 2012 in Europe.I don`t know, Wolanila. I didn`t ask.

Thanks Di_vas. I asked because I too have non-accompanying dependants who are in Africa. They did medicals also in November but the visa office hasn't contacted me yet. They are minors so they don't need police report. When did you send in your application?

I think you can so long as your visa is valid and your trip is short like 2 weeks max. As long as they don't have reason to deny you back into Canada. I think you will be fine. But it is a small gamble everytime you leave Canada

Hi Michelle,

1. I am not so sure about it being faster using electronic fingerprints. You need to get a criminal check from FBI to submit it with your application.

2. Once your application is completed, you will be directed to local CIC office in Ontario. Once you get final approval there, you become "landed" thus don't need to leave Canada to do this.

3. If you follow the In Canada Sponsorship guide carefully, you are not likely to be requested for more info. Usually they ask for more info like Police check if not done or Medical Exam if expired or not completed. It is best to submit medical and police check with application.

4. It doesn't matter if your family haven't meet him in person, so long as they are aware of him and acknowledged your relationship with him. However since you plan to have a wedding, I am going to assume your family will meet him in person at the wedding.

Have you considered applying outland so that you can continue to work in NY and be able to leave Canada during process. If you intend to apply inland, you are basically stuck in Canada for up to a year or more.

Hello in the house,

I have not been participating much on this forum but have been following it very closely since last year.

I want to inform you guys that today I got an email from CPCV that the processing of my application for PR has been completed and Etobicoke will contact me. I know the question most people will be willing to ask me is "what is your timeline", so I'll just drop the answer to that below.

Application received by CPCV on September 7, 2012.
AIP and OWP issued on February 20, 2013
ecas is not updated for DM yet but today (April 10, 2013) I got the email that the processing of my application is completed.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE WAITING FOR AIP AND DM...... YAY!!!

Hello Everyone! I am new here.
So happy to find you all guys, thank you for sharing your experience.
Here is my timeline:
Application received: July 11, 2012 Vegreville
Start processing: Oct.31, 2012
AIP: Jan.20, 2013.
Applied for OWP Mar.20, 2013.

Didn`t here anything after, everytime I call cic agents I get the same answer 8-9 months for the 2 stage but it seems like it`s been much shorter for some people here.
We can only hope and wait though it`s stressful and painful. Good luck everyone!

you know what? I just checked ecas is showing that DM has been made and local office will contact me...
GOD! what does that mean? why I didn't receive an email ? They just called me 2 days ago about my address they were not sure which address is correct because 2 months ago we moved to another appartment....

My timeline is as follows:

We received your application for permanent residence on August 10, 2012.

We started processing your application on February 8, 2013.(2nd stage i believe)

Medical results have been received.( I sent in medicals and police clearance/check along with my app.)

A decision has been made on your application(Decision made on April 2, 2013). The office will contact you concerning this decision.

Visa office for landing interview: Saskatoon

Congratulations. I know the feeling of not being able to breath. I felt the same when we got DM earlier in the week. I am happy to see an AIP it is the first one in almost a month.

Congratulations! Recently, we haven't heard about receiving AIP, so I was a bit worried about it. Of course, I'm very happy to hear about the news of DM. Congratulations!

I'm waiting for AIP.

You will be able to work when you apply for an open work permit. You won't get that until you after you get AIP letter from CIC. You can apply for OWP along with your application or apply after you get you AIP letter. So expect to find yourself a hobby to kill at least 6 months before getting OWP to work.
