Hi All,

I got my GCMS/Foss notes today and I am just in the process of trying to decipher them. I have read the GCMS dedicated topic and it was very helpful. As far as I can tell - Security is the only item remining. But I could be wrong. It is tough to get a proper grasp of the info - but i will print this evening when home. Nothing seesm to have been updated since my medicals appeared on Ecas - November 5th or there abouts. Anyhow - I will report any findings.

What exactly is GCMS/FOSS notes means? Isn't it for parties that want to apply PR outland ?

This is new for me cause never heard about it.. Care to share?

GCMS notes are records lept that show what CIC have on file for you. You can only order them, or have someone oreder them for you from within Canada. I think the most they will cost you si $5. Search for GCMS above and there is a topic labelled guide to GCMS that lets you know what is included in them. FOSS is the old system i believe and GCMS is the new one.

I guess i could have my fiance order it.. But on what stage that we have to order the GCMS notes? Cause it didnt mention at all at the Guideline.. As far as i could read it..

Don't stress Pritha - the notes have nothing to do with your application - you do not have to jump through any more hoops. Basically they are an informative tool that you can use to see exactly where CIC are with your application. You order them from separate dept. from CIC I believe but i could be wrong on that.

Once you receive Acknowledgement of receipt you can order your notes but i think there is very little on them at this stage, mine told me that I have passed criminality check, medical and have the security checks to go through.

Again, do not stress.

Hi Rusty53! My docs got to CIC office on 24th Dec'12!!!

By the way I called CIC today and they told me that as for now they are opening envelopes received in October only.
Website says June..but at least the open the ones from October!

Oh, when i called on 3 December, CIC told me they were opening envelopes received on 10th November~ but i think what they told me was right cos after just a few days, i got AIP and OWP. (i sent in my additional documents requested by them on around 12 or 13Nov.

i guys i have have a letter from etobicoke for am interview fist thing is it says some thing about convention refugees must provide the original documents sent to cpc dose this apply to me

Oh, when i called on 3 December, CIC told me they were opening envelopes received on 10th November~ but i think what they told me was right cos after just a few days, i got AIP and OWP. (i sent in my additional documents requested by them on around 12 or 13Nov.

So excited to see things are moving forward for you! Could you clarify for me... when you say they are opening Envelopes received on 10th of November.. that means... The fresh packages they just got in? or envelopes that were in the AOR vault for 4 months and now are moved over to almost be processed?

i am not sure, but at that time i was calling to ask if they've received my additional documents and the Call centre agent gave me that answer. I dunno if they separate the line for different types of "envelopes"...

Are you a convention refugee? I wouldn't think so or you wouldn't be applying via the sponsored spouse category.
