By the way, to everyone providing dates for the chart. I only put the dates listed on the chart that have been given to me by that member. If it is not correct anymore, it is important that you correct me. You yourself are the only person who knows whether the information is correct or not. Your participation is really appreciated. So to all current and new members to come. If you would like to be listed in the chart please list the following:

Application Received: (MM/DD/YYYY)
Started Processing: (MM/DD/YYYY)
Approval/Denial Date: (MM/DD/YYYY)
Landing Date: (MM/DD/YYYY)

And when listing the dates please try to be as accurate as possible. These dates are what help us get the most accurate look into the wait times with inland applications. If you are unsure about any dates, please contact CIC to find out or sign into e-Cas. Thanks everyone. Just trying to keep the chart the best it can be. ;)

Big congrats to Komar with your approval!

Mailed the QSC application just before 17:00 at the post office. I'll cross my fingers they won't choose any location between Montreal and Québec for striking in the next few days. Next task is to start preparing our (hopefully last) envelope to Vegreville (copy of receipts for the medical, payment of RPR, etc.).

Pre-Assessed..
just curious....

what does the letter say? that it has been approved then what? so if you submitted the application for OWP with the PR, you get your OWP together with "THE LETTER"? is this right? so i'm just waiting for 1 letter then that has the OWP and the decision?

they started processing my application on Nov.3.. i'm wondering how long after they've started processing an application do they ask for follow-up documents.... i mean, when are we "safe" that they won't ask for more docs... just worried cuz i stayed in shanghai for 1.5 years and i did not included a police certificate cuz the immigration consultant said it isnt necessary since i didnt stay there for more than 6 months straight.. (i fly back and forth every 1-2 months..) and as we all know, it is hard to deal with China gov't/system...

thanks LY by the way for doing all of these... you deserve to be happy! :)

You're so welcome whiteapple. Keep us up to date when you hear anything.

And when you are approved for AIP, you will get 2 letters and the OWP mailed to you. Each thing is mailed in its own envelope but usually arrives only a day apart from each other. All three of mine just happened to be down there at the same time when I checked though.

The sponsor approval letter starts off like this:
"This refers to the Application to sponsor a member of the Spouse or Common-Law Partner in Canada Class you submitted to this office on behalf of (insert name here). You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. The Application for Permanent Residence will be processed separately and the applicant will hear from this office shortly." (Then goes on to discuss your obligations as a sponsor.)

The applicant approval letter for AIP starts off like this:
"This letter refers to your application for permanent residence under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. It has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements to apply for permanent resident status as a member of the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class. However, a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met. These requirements include medical, security and background checks for you and, if applicable, all of your family members, both in Canada and abroad, even if they are not applying to join you in Canada at this time. You cannot become a permanent resident until you and all your family members have met these requirements."

Then if you included the OWP with your PR application then it continues to say this on the applicant letter:
"Your application for a WORK PERMIT has been approved and your new document(s) will be sent to you separately. You are authorized to remain in Canada under the conditions listed on the document(s). Please read them carefully." (Then goes on to say you can apply for a study permit if you don't have one already...etc.)

The letters are just a formality though and they only insert things that apply to your situation when needed. The format of the letters do also change from time to time but for now, these are the current ones. And as you can tell, they don't actually say you are approved they just say you have met the eligibility but of course that is the same thing as approved but in boring terms. Lol. Hope this helps.

Well I landed before I got the "Decision Made" letter. I haven't gotten the chance to go to the Post Office again yet so I am not sure what it says yet. Sorry.

Haha sometimes I forget about the letter now too since the only thing I think about waiting on anymore is my PR card. I will most certainly post it. Just remind me if you remember but I forget. Hopefully I won't though.

I am having a lovely weekend but sleeping most it away though. Lol. Thanks for asking. Hope you are having a lovely weekend as well. You definitely should get some rest then.

LY: thanks for the long response :) so after getting the AIP letter, i'm still expecting another one that says i am officially a PR? is this right? what if they don't need anymore requirements? do they say it on the AIP letter as well?

You're so welcome! :) Well it can take up to 9 months after AIP to get PR. Whenever you get "Decision Made" (indicating PR) you will be mailed another letter that tells you that your local office will be contacting you with a landing date. And I am not quite sure what you are asking about not having anymore requirements. If you could rephrase, I would be glad to try and answer you better.
