pptk703 said:Hey congrats to your landing! It's been a long time and you must be so happy! Now it's my turn to wait, I should get AIP at the end of August but I'm hoping it'll come sooner so I can work ! I'm just curious about OWP...Looks like it comes void after you land? Does that mean I won't even have to bother to apply for it when I get AIP and just wait for landing? I really don't wanna waste more money !!
Thank you very much. Well it hasn't been confirmed if it actually becomes voided out or not. Thing is once you become a PR you are a permanent resident and not temporary anymore so you won't need any temporary documents for anything anymore. And yes, you should still apply for one after AIP. Also, get your temporary SIN with the OWP asap so that you are able to work. Otherwise if you don't have a temporary SIN by the time you land, you will not be able to get one without your PR card which takes another 2 months to get in the mail. During that time you can't work because you don't have a SIN. Which is what ended up happening to me. So don't let that happen to yourself. It is worth the added expense. Good luck and keep us up to date on when you get news.
